I'd never cry over a celebrity death, but I was pretty bummed out about Chris Farley and John Candy.

Yes, I know a lot of people that cried when Kurt Cobain found his gun.

Michael Jackson’s funeral got me choked up a bit.

Not a celebrity but when I was in HS Hank Gathers collapsed and died on the court. That shook me to tears when it happened. I’m not sure why. March 4, 1990

Maybe bummed out but never cried. Robin Williams, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Payne Stewart, James Gandolfini (sp).

Not cried, but Prince and Bourdain was rough for very different reasons. I have a very short list of celebrities I woukd go out of my way to meet and they were both on it.

I just put my hands down my pants and felt a pair of balls. Which is probably why my answer is no.

The hardest I've been hit by a celebrity's passing was with the death of "Macho Man" Randy Savage. It was as though I was mourning my childhood, in a sense. That dude was no small part of my youth.

I’ve been bummed by several celebrity deaths. Hendrix, Paul Newman, Reagan to name a few. But I’ve never cried about it. I don’t get that. People you don’t know personally and you’re crying about it?
I might be sad about a celebrity that I really like. But not as much of they are older and lived a good, long life. The saddest I can remember feeling was when Wally Pontiff died. So young and seemingly healthy. And the most sad part of it for me was thinking about his poor parents and what they must have been going through. Same with this LSU freshman girl that is missing. I feel pain for those parents.

I recall being taken aback by the image of Jackson's dead body lying on a stretcher under a white sheet broadcast on cable news the day he passed. Jackson was a larger-than-life celebrity, the King of Pop, and there he was, deceased, just a body on a board. It was surreal.

I definitely shed tears after Kobe passed.

A combination of things. Made my living room dusty
Robin Williams. He died. My son was very young. I’m watching TV channel surfing and come across What Dreams May Come, right at the beginning of the eulogy scene.

Agree on Prince. You just knew he’d live for 250 years. I remember going down a Google rabbit hole after he died and tracking all the homes he lived in over his life, including his childhood home IIRC.

Have you or anyone you know actually cried over the death of a celebrity?
No. Not even close.
I probably have some sociopathic tendencies though when it comes to empathy.

And the next game when Bo Kimble shot his first free throw left handed in honor of Gathers, and made it.....gave me chills.
