The way Dimebag went out fricked with me a little bit. Chris Cornell bummed me out a lot. And Neil Peart last year was a blow to my rock and roll heart.

His death broken my hearth too. I loved his talent.

Never actually cried over the death of someone I didn't personally know, but the ones that hit me hardest:
Tony Gwynn
Steve Mcnair
Philip Seymour Hoffman
Kobe
Mostly because of the circumstances surrounding their deaths, and all much too young.

Yes. Chris Benoit
I've been in that world since 1998.
One of my bro's called me in tears telling me, saying it was another Dino Bravo gangland murder. Then we find out the true story.
Thanks for reminding me gonna see him this weekend at a indie show, I'm gonna give him shite.

Closest I came to crying was Michael Jackson

Someone I never met? Not that I can remember. Just "aw, that sucks".

Pretty close to tears when Stevie Ray Vaughan died, but I absolutely lost it when Tanden passed.

No, but I've certainly derived much pleasure from their passing.

Never cried, but Bourdains weirdly shook me. Dude had my dream life

used to be in a band with a guy who idolized him, he called me as soon as he heard about it, my first thought was I hope Clapton wasn't with him because I had tickets for his concert the next night

Eddie Gurerro when I was like 15 years old.

Dimebag really screwed with my head. Knew him and his brother. He was just such a good guy that would do anything for anyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. I still get emotional thinking back to it.

Also should mention Stuart Scott. I broke down real hard after watching ESPN report his passing live. But it wasn't necessarily him that did it. While I was definitely saddened to see that he pass, and he had that ESPY speech only a few months earlier where I think he knew he didnt have much longer.
But what did me in is that literally only a few days earlier I came from spending time at my grandfather's grave. One of the most influential people I've ever had in my life. Seeing the man who I once thought a superhero as a child, to basically being a vegetable in the hospital is a mental image in my head I have never been able to shake.
Cancer deaths just strike me hard in general. I may not cry like the day of Stuart Scott, but whenever I see a celebrity pass from cancer I am immediately saddened.

No. Not one.

It made me think more than any other celeb death, but Neil was the anti-celeb to begin with. Spent a lot of time reflecting, their best music was produced in my youth.
But he really hated the celeb worship.
