Anyways, 8/10 from me. Good show but not top 5 for me

6.5 or 7 is more accurate. Too many shitty goombah actors to rate any higher.

I loved the entire Junior vs Tony subplot

irony is Junior told Tony he coulda been something in baseball in Season 1.

Junior was a solid a character there was on that show up until the very end.

Didn't watch The Sopranos until 2010. Literally never saw an episode during its original run.

It was and still is the best television I've ever seen.

Agreed. Very strong character. And that's what sets this show apart.

Sopranos and The Wire are the Citizen Kane of TV in that they revolutionized the modern era of premiere TV
.

IDk about that.

Watching the first season of Columbo from 1971 and its still way ahead of The Sopranos and The Wire.

Was there a lull in great television, sure.

Especially the 90's.

But acting like the Sopranos and The Wire changed television or even Breaking Bad or Mad Men is a misnomer.

Shite, the first season of Columbo blows them out of the water. And I love Mad Men and Breaking Bad.

There's nothing special about Sopranos, they just re-introduced the wheel to a younger audience that grew up on Full House.

"Lucky I didn't punch his lights out." Hahaha, Tony and Noah was fantastic.

Sopranos was an all time goat, if not the Goat.

He’s weak. He’s outta control. He’s become an embarrassment to himself and everybody else.

Wow. What a ridiculous take. Columbo is good TV. Nothing about it putts it ahead of the Sopranos or BB.

I mean, Barney Miller and Taxi were good TV too. None approach Sopranos.

I mean, you’re comparing 3 characters based on a 1 dimensional standard, that they were all a problem to Tony and he killed them. Otherwise the circumstances for each were very different.

Tony didn’t like Aprile from the start and soon reviled him. Tony like Ralphie but grew to hate him as his antics got worse and worse. Tony really loved Tony B throughout although he eventually had to kill him to make peace and also keep him from certain slow torture. So I think your analysis is very flawed.

Let me tell you a coupla' three things: forget the UGA posts, forget the Auburn fishing banhammer post, and forget the rating Lost as the best series ever. Diddlydawg7 is a man who has no respect for this thing.

In all seriousness, the Sopranos is the GOAT tv series. I do, however, see how a younger person might not fully comprehend it given the massive differences in society now vs then. Not to mention most people older than 30 atleast remember growing up and seeing mafia stuff on the news or the Gotti trial etc. For a younger person it might just seem like some nonsensical fantasy stuff, or atleast not fully understand how big of an impact the mafia had pre 1990s especially in NYC, etc.
