Seasons 4 and 5 have shifted a lot since I first watched them. I didn't really like season 4 when and loved season 5 at first. Now I don't really care for season 5 because it seems kinda canned. They stretched it out for an extra season with little narrative purpose and just added in some star power to hype it up.

Season 4, IIRC, was one with a lot of teases that really went nowhere until the shite hit the fan in the final episode of the season after a fateful phone call.

Combine the personal conflict with Tony getting his revenge on the guy not wanting to return the downpayment on the summer house and you get an episode that hits on comedic and emotional notes after a season of teases.

that said, thats pretty small gripe. its not like those three were the main plot driver arc for the series. all three were subplots

Right. And wouldn’t you think that probably is a common theme/problem in their world? People finishing a prison sentence and coming back into the mix?

I’d say it’s like complaining, “all they do is resort to violence to collect money. It’s so predictable.” It’s kind of how things go in that lifestyle...I’d assume

I thought it was pretty good the first watch but the second watch I absolutely loved it. Can’t say that for many shows as it usually trends the other way.

We didn't have 100 other options when it was running.

It was a pioneer in the mini series field

Watched it. Liked it. But it is a rather one (bleak) note pony.

We won't be talking about Peaky Blinders in 20 years.

I got downvoted into oblivion for calling "Justified" a "guilty pleasure" as if it were a slam. But on a single watch through Peaky Blinders is a decent romp, "Guilty Pleasure" but not in any kind of GOAT category. I wouldn't mind sitting through Justified again--it had a certain charm/humor that kept it light.

I quit on Lost. That's a team that didn't have the ending in mind, and it showed. Suffered like Game of Thrones for that reason.

This. My first watch was in college when it aired lived and I thought it was a show about the mob with some humor. My first rewatch a couple of years ago, and it was a dark comedy with mob stuff sprinkled in.

Did ralphie come back into town? I thought he was just a lower level guy who wasn’t show the first few seasons.

He was a soldier in the cursed Junior/Richie Aprile/GiGi/Vito/Carlo crew who was in Miami throughout season 1 and 3.

He first appeared early in season 3 but was almost immediately was featured
