We do and I think when I’m on my death bed it will be one of the things I’m most proud of. It’s been difficult financially but besides that it’s been amazing. Can’t wait for the influx of people in this thread saying it creates weirdos because they are stuck in a 90’s view of homeschool.

Hat's off to you for playing the long game.

Nothing is more bizarre to me than parents who say homeschooled kids are "weird" when their kids are sitting in plastic cubicles and wearing masks while social distancing and submitting to "contact tracing" for a friggin cold virus.

All that, just some washed up floozy with a degree in "edumacation" can teach them to hate themselves.

This is half of it. The other half is for every adult in every community to work tirelessly to defund the schools. We have played the role of useful idiot for the Left long enough. We have been suckered into believing the value of our kids' education is a function of shoveling dollars at the districts. It's not.

In the District of Columbia, over $21K is spent in the schools per student. Assume an average class size of 25, and that's over $500,000 per classroom. That's insane, particularly in light of the fact that only 25% of the district's students can read and do elementary math.

My older 2 are at VA Tech and we try to keep them on the right path and not get indoctrinated into the liberal BS

I'm interacting with Va Tech students all the time. Most seem to have their heads screwed on straight, but there are a significant minority that are commie indoctrinated robots with bad attitudes. That's because "and State University" was added onto Virginia Polytechnic Institute some years ago when a "playpen of liberal arts" was added to the lineup. I lived in Bryan-College Station, Texas 45 years ago, and Va. Tech and Aggieland are very similar. Better than most but still with a big knot of ANTIFA types.

My two girls are home schooled. My son was never home schooled and graduates this year. Despite being in public school, he has a good nose for sniffing out bullshite and is based as frick. No worries with him.

I live in Hoover, Alabama. I'm waiting to see who our new superintendent will be before making a decision on this.

GT did that same idiotic BS, although not to the same degree. Academia doesn't respect hard sciences, so to bolster their reputations technical schools add BAs, I guess so the admin gets invited to the cool cocktail parties? I never understood it.

I keep mine in public school, armed with the truth and the confidence to ask questions as well as discuss things with their classmates.

private Christian school

Research first. The one I went to in LC is Christian in name only. After I left, leadership only sought after kids who would make the sports teams better. As a result, academics steadily declined and it turned into a white flight scenario for those who were serious about school. I would never send my kid there now.

Every home schooled kid I know is a weird, awkward little fricker with zero social skills. Their parents are usually fricking weirdos too.

Luckily I live in rural-ish Missouri where the loons have not yet gotten a foothold

Private Christian school for now. We live in Madison Cawthorn’s district if that tells you anything, so eventually we will move to public school. I’m not overly concerned with critical race theory or anti American leftist indoctrination happening here.

People act like the only socialization someone can receive is from going to a school with a bunch of shitbag kids. Somehow people managed to grow up perfectly socially adjusted for their period of time for the entirity of human history without public schools up until the last hundred years. I think we'll be fine.

Kids only spend a little time with certain teachers so you should make sure they are raised right at home and they shouldn’t be swayed ...
