Definitely going to be hot. Personally, I'm not much for attending outdoor crap in the summer heat.

In fairness, charity events aren't supposed to be cheap. That's the whole point. The proceeds go to children with brain cancer and their families being given a place to stay while being treated.

This is actually pretty cheap compared to Fur Ball, Boudin Bourbon and Beer, Best Dressed Ball, etc.

This event is generally pretty damn awesome and for a great cause. The only time it may have been considered not one of the best events in the region was because of rain and poor drainage at the old City Park location

Huh

There’s almost been too much room at UNO

Outside of the wrist band debacle a few years ago I never felt sucked into a crowd

These sort of comments about charity events always surprise me. They aren't meant to be exactly worth the money for the goods received, which isn't all that much in this case. They are raising money for a cause. I'm sure they would appreciate a small donation if you feel the cost is worth it.

I didn't downvote you. I don't vote.

I thought that at first too - but it’s more about the fun and experience

Yeah, we cook good barbecue at home but that’s not the point

I couldn’t bring all my kids - so this might just be for the husband and I! Lol

Haven't been since. Was absolutely horrific, didn’t get to spend a single dollar, my family blamed me naturally, and then this board says I shouldn’t be mad the money I spent got me nothing since it’s charity anyway

still like the people running it and all the years before that. When the kids are a little older I’ll likely give it another shot. It did feel like a lot more space at lakefront but that day, oh that ill fated day of nothing working, yikes. Vietnam level flashbacks

I was stuck in it too. But the festival itself is not crowded at uno. It’s probably too spread out

I agree the space is plenty adequate as far as festivals go, but it still bottlenecked in places and just felt "packed" still for all booths right of the main stage

Truth is I hate people, so festivals in general just arent my thing. But that is why I loved Hogs for a while. It didnt feel "festival" like for a while

Proceeds go to families with children who have brain cancer. If spending a little more than I’m comfortable with means helping a struggling child, I’m okay with it

I realize that. I just think it's a little much for a family.

I thought there was another in between. Not positive though, never had a problem myself.

I have around $7 in those wooden tokens that Blackened Out won't refund me on. So my claim goes back further than wristbands.

I haven’t been to a festival or any outdoor public event in a year so I already bought my tickets. I’m fairly optimistic the state restrictions will be much better in 3 months.

There was an in-between. The great debacle was 2018.

Crap now I'm second guessing myself. I'm pretty sure I've been to one since then.. almost positive. But I could also just be thinking of the one that was supposed to happen last year being the next one.. I forget.
