what an eye opener....they prioritized donors that have paid thousands or in some cases millions to the university over your made up protest? Shocking stuff.

We need to go back to looking at intent. 99.99% of people who have sung the song the past 100 years did so to show their pride towards Texas, UT and, UT Sports. At what point does this usage overtake whatever spotty past that can be linked to the song

Truth be told, "Eyes of Texas" is probably MORE of a rallying cry for racists now than it was 2 years ago because now they have a reason to gravitate towards it

Who would have thought Austin, TX would be the place the woke crowd loses a cancel culture battle.

Why do the donors want the players to HAVE to stand for it? I feel like playing the song while letting the players choose whether or not to participate is a fair compromise

Man if you're UT this is the definition of an unwinnable situation.

They are paying for your tuition, you do what they say. It’s that simple.

Why can't there be a compromise. Still play the song, and if there are student-athletes who don't care for the song let them continue on to the locker room, etc.

Why do the boosters give a frick? It's a song, I dont care if LSU players stay for the alma mater or not. It seems like some old geezers are mad that every demand is not being met.

Well I didn't like standing up for the pledge and reciting it every morning during school, but I half-assed my way through it. The American way by gawd.

Let’s see if any of these woke players put their money where their mouth is and refuse to play. Bet money they’ll all be out there.

Nothing like a man who can't afford lodging, gets invited into the home of a stranger free of charge to stay as long as they'd like...

...and then proceeds to try and change the home, rearrange the furniture and screw the wife.

Don't like UT's traditions, well then get the frick out.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you scholarship athletes.

You know sometimes people just need a dose of reality. Sometimes you can have your opinion and it doesn’t matter. A coach might ask for a player’s input on certain things, but in others, their opinion doesn’t matter. If the players do not like it, leave. It’s like Trump said: “In this country we have many freedoms. One of those freedoms is to be offended”.

While I’m on a roll I have one last thing to say. I do not watch the NBA anymore. But on this message board you see things famous athletes say. Lebron gives his political views and was upset when Laura Ingraham said he should shut up and dribble and then he didn’t like when the soccer player said something about him giving his political opinion. When Lebron is at a strip club does he want the strippers political views or does he just want them to perform?

Wokeness has always been a revolution by elites aimed downward. Too bad millions of dumbfricks don’t realize it.

I’m not usually on the side of the majority of the OT... but this probably stupid... my cousin played for UT (01-04) he still sings it before and after Texas games he watching on TV... I think that’s nuts ... him being from Louisiana... this probably a non issue seeing as numerous Texas rappers have referenced the song showing pride in their state
