If East Baton Rouge was located in other states, this is how it would rank among all other cities.

Only 7th in Texas if East Baton Rouge were located there. Far behind the GDP of Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, etc.

Baton Rouge pales in comparison to the massive cities of Houston and Dallas?

Next you'll tell me the Earth is round.

fricking crazy talk this is.

All of those cities have 1M+ people. EBR has 450k.

East Baton Rouge has about 450,000 people and is blessed with a lot of high paying industrial and manufacturing jobs.

Not surprised it would rank as the highest or near highest GDP in so many states. It's even beating out Orleans Parish, but that's not a surprise given that EBR is larger.

We rank higher than I realized. Is this due to O&G?

Is this ranking EBR Parish vs. counties in those states or just cities?

Source?

What are they comparing? Counties vs counties? Or metro areas?

It doesn't jibe with this list, which has several sources and compares metro areas:
