Buncha Lib-Quack BS!

quote:

N.J. asks judge to force gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson to hand over documents on how it markets firearms

quote:

Smith & Wesson said in its lawsuit that this all amounted to an “unconstitutional fishing expedition” designed to weaken the Second Amendment.

Grewal’s office pushed back, saying last week that state law allowed them to dig into anyone advertising within New Jersey.

The review was not about “the product Smith & Wesson sells, but the representations and omissions in its marketing and advertising,” state officials argued in court documents, and the investigation has shown that some ads “may misrepresent the impact owning a firearm has on personal safety.”

quote:

The state has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation, and New Jersey has previously gone after outside groups that overstepped local laws.

The State Police also track what types of weapons are used in crimes, and Smith & Wesson guns have topped recent lists, according to state data.

Some reports listed “SMITH & WESSON OR SWAZILAND” as the top manufacturer linked to gun crimes. A State Police spokesman said the inclusion of the word “Swaziland” was a computer error, and the newest report from November listed only “Smith & Wesson” as the top manufacturer.

This is how it starts. Democrats are going after manufacturers to make them so cost prohibitive to produce that they'll go out of business.

I'm new to all this within the last year but I'll say this. Everything I've learned or bought, I've had to seek out myself. Not on youtube or the internet have I hardly had any kind of gun product marketed to me. Now I'm sure they're in magazines I don't subscribe to but I also know they aren't on television advertisements either. To me I see about as many gun advertisements as I see tobacco advertisements.

Just my view.

Why any gun manufacturer is based in the liberal states is beyond me.

Because their base was established so many years ago this wasn’t as big of an issue. Moving headquarters, especially for a manufacturer, isn’t the cheapest thing. Yet we are still seeing it happen.

What do you expect from a state where you can’t carry hollow points in your gun outside of your home.

Gonna be tough for them to do. The market has shown it will bear higher prices than we have now and I bet they are already at 500% margins on plastic pistols.

I don’t see how their internal documents and philosophy on marketing has any bearing. Shouldn’t NJ already have access to all pertinent information on how they actually marketed within the state?

I'm talking about the amount of liability costs these companies will have to endure after hundreds of billions of dollars in class action lawsuits and liability lawsuits every time someone is shot. Same goes for ammo manufacturers.

Truest statement that will ever be posted on this board. No excuse whatsover. Stay there and they deserve everything they get. Should have moved 10+ years ago.

NJ is trying hard to race to the bottom for the worst state in the US award. I think they may be there.

It's losing population, Super high taxes, expensive to live there.

There's really no reason to live in NJ.

Imagine if red states attacked and tried to destroy the first Ammendment (media bias and censorship) as much as blue states have attacked the 2nd.

They're the first laws of the land... the pillars of the nation, yet one has been used by the other to destroy said pillar.
