re: Anyone been in the woods and had a scary experience with coyotes - The Rodfather
Not arguing with you but the 10 : 80 is slightly disingenuous. Coyotes are only in North America. Lightning is all over the globe. There are roughly 6,000 to (by some statistics) 24,000 lightning deaths every year, ~240,000 injuries per year. 51 deaths by lightning on average in the US per year, an...

re: Matt Schick ESPN - 95% certain” transfers will soon be allowed to play immediately - The Rodfather
The scholarships are essentially only a year by year thing. They only ways I would be good with it (and there is a lot more little things that would have to happen, but) 1) if the scholarship is pulled (or doesn’t keep the grades the school requires), the student should have fully unrestricted ab...

re: Canada to Illinois - The Rodfather
I have been saying this since we had the buyout. The dude was a coaching commodity whether we want to admit it or not. It was a guarantee he would have a job this upcoming season. His buyout was $3mm over twice the remaining life of his contract, which would be $750k/year for 4 years. Illinois wa...

re: Game Warden/No license/*Update* - The Rodfather
Mississippi really hates out of state hunters.
Louisiana started all this shite when they upped the out of state fishing license and didn't want to play nice with Mississippi. Mississippi offered reciprocity with the hunting license (in-state fee vs out-of-state fees), IF Louisiana ...

re: If you agree that Coach O was not the right hire at the time... - The Rodfather
Who do you think LSU should have hired instead, after Herman and Fisher said no?
The real question is not who should have been next. The real question was did we try hard enough to get the two guys you are saying said "no". Did they actually say "no", or did we say "no" when...

re: Outdoor Board Game Cam Recomendation - The Rodfather
I know everyone is hating on Wildgame, the only one imof theirs I have experience with is the 360 Crush Lightsout. I have really liked it. It is great for a foodplot or field. You put a t-post down in the center and mount the camera to it. When it is triggered to takes a picture in every direction i...

re: 01/01/2018 - IST, IBT, you crazy T - The Rodfather
I’m on a food plot / cutover. Hoping to catch big daddy trying to refuel after a night of loving. Thinking with the wrong head has these boys crazy. Earlier in the week, a guy at my lease shot a buck and didn’t kill him. That dude came back out a couple hours later trailing a doe in the same foo...

re: Proposed Graphite Plant for Port Manchac - The Rodfather
Those 25 to 100 jobs is permanent positions. I can tell you with certainty that it would create 9months to 1 year of work opportunities for 350-500 people. Eta: I’m not saying I’m for it or against it, just that I’m our state which has its economy heavily based on oil and gas, to have an industr...

re: Poaching punishment: spend every weekend in jail during WT season for 5 years - The Rodfather
Maybe a $5k fine for this guy was pointless. Maybe he didn't have the ability to pay said fine. Which would only bring more fines and penalties that he couldn't / wouldn't be able to pay back. All just costing the court and taxpayers more money. Or maybe he is loaded and the $5k would just be a drop...

re: Poaching punishment: spend every weekend in jail during WT season for 5 years - The Rodfather
What about making it, you spend the amount of time in jail by how old the deer was?
I get the sentiment, but I feel this is backwards. While older mature bucks are harder to come by and more of a prized deer, the biggest issue hunters normally face is too many people killing young ...

re: Poaching punishment: spend every weekend in jail during WT season for 5 years - The Rodfather
5 years seems a bit harsh, when you tally up the days that's damn near half a year in prison for shooting a deer. People get less than that for DWI's/drugs/ some violent crimes, etc
Correct! Assuming it is Saturday and Sunday only... Hunting season in that county is 9...
