Your point stands, but some professional services actually class the people as a good that they bill the client for using.

Won’t stop the snickers bar or fountain drink from going to $4-$5

Are snickers that expensive in california? Or any state that has a $15 minimum wage? No, they are not. Will the prices rise? Yeah. They’ll rise to the intersection of demand & cost, like they always do. I’m 100% for paying people enough to get off welfare, even if a snickers costs an extra $0.50

I was talking to a friend who decided to pay $2k less on an SUV that didn't have four wheel drive, his words: "If I need 4 wheel drive I'll just rent a car with 4 wheel drive and save the $2000". Easy to say that, until you actually have to do it.

every time i’ve “needed” 4 wheel drive i was already in a situation where it was too late to rent one

Dumbass will realize the workforce will be crippled when everyone decides they’ll also go without rather than pay $15 for a Big Mac

And how many 40hr workers do they have compared to before $15hr?

Prices will rise and # of employees at small businesses will be reduced...a long with hours of employees that are kept to off set the increase in overhead

Jesus, what a mind numbingly dumb statement.

This has literally been proven wrong but go off sis. Also, if your ramblings were factual, I still rather pay 15 for a Big Mac or go without, then have someone live with a poverty wage.

So she'd rather have them unemployed and replaced by kiosks?

This is the larger issue here....

They know the small businesses will have to cut workers' time back to eliminate the benefits paid by the employees, resulting in a significant amount of people screaming for socialized healthcare.

You will see people giddy over $15/ hr until they see their hours at $12 cut from 40 to 20.

It's truly amazing to me that humans walking erect in modern times fall for the rhetoric the democrat party sells.

Like a locally owned gas station, hardware or appliance store, I’m sure having their payroll double from $100,000 to $200,000 wouldn’t be a problem. Ffs

This mostly effects large companies bottom line IMO. Which is why it is so politicized.

Jesus

You’re 1 of 3 or a combination
1. Min wage worker
2. Never owned a business
3. Not in management.

I own a general contracting company in South Florida. Guatemalan folks without papers make 20 dollars an hour down here. Maybe the economy is just different in LA these days with the responses yall have.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if 15/ hour is minimum, say hello to even mire automation everywhere from fast food restaurants to factory floors to retail stores.
Government never has to meet a bottom line, but all these private companies will have to and at $15/ hr, payback on automation investments will be that much easier to justify.
They'll be even more unemployment.

Well, they should grow up and get real jobs. Minimum wage jobs are for high schoolers.

People stuck in these jobs either make no effort to better themselves or have certain issues where they can receive disabilities.

No person with half a brain gets stuck in a minimum wage job.

That's right sir. And keep working hard at you job to pay your taxes because mass unemployment means UBI.
