Seems like Brees is setting up to comeback: Wife announces he had torn Rotator Cuff

Maybe I am reading it wrong, but it seems like this is a way to set up his reason for having a noodle this year and wanting to comeback?

All more reasons for him to retire.

could also read as to why he is retiring?

Nah I mean he had to be begged to come back before this season. He’s done

A torn rotator cuff doesn’t cause you not to know how to read defenses anymore

And yet he stayed in the lineup instead of being on the sideline so a healthy qb could be in the game.
Brees really stretched the field with his 15 yards of arm strength.

Unless I'm missing something, a torn rotator cuff surgery is hard to come back from, and even if you do it still saps more away. This screams retirement, not coming back.
If that's true that the Saints let him play with a torn rotator cuff, Sean Payton should be in some hot water. A QB with already mediocre range suffering an injury like that makes him non-viable as a starter.

I think they're just trying to defend his legacy and give more reasons why he's retiring at the same time.
I'll forever blame Jared Cook for that loss far more than Brees. That fumble changed the game and then he had a pass bounce off his chest when we still had a chance to be in it.

Why continue to play after two major injuries like that? The man doesn’t have anything left to prove and the Saints super bowl window is closing fast due to salary cap

Sounds like he doesn't want Brady breaking his career passing yardage record next year.

Torn Rotator Cuff is not a death sentence.
Depends on the thickness of the tear and how many of the 4 are involved.
I'm sure it still hurt pretty good.

Drew really needs to learn how to read the room

Time to retire. So hard to come back from this stuff as you get older. I heard Bobby Hebert tell a story about retiring. He said when he started out he would hurt bad on Monday and by Tuesday, he was back ready to go. In his last year it was Saturday, he had to start against the Cowboys the next day and he said he was hurting bad still like he had played the day before. He knew it was time to go.

And yet STILL a better option than Jameis....?

Personally, if they think a healed rotator cuff will allow him to hit the deep ball again, I would not at all be surprised if he gives it one more year.

nah I think he's done, his body is done.
He's been relatively injury free while in NOLA, except these last 3 years where he's constantly battling injuries.
I wonder how many of those I could tie directly to Peat...
