Ontario rat ii in d2 steel is nice and priced right
ETA: I hate this board sometimes. I just ordered each of my nephews a Rat II in Aus-8 and myself another Rat II in D2 since I lost my first one.

How "high end" is high end to you?
Spyderco Delica 4 is a LOT of knife for the money (and it isn't cheap).
Benchmade Griptilian isn't a bad choice.
ZT, Kershaw, Ontario, about 20 companies make great knives, just depending on what you want.
It is a Golden Age of pocketknife ownership. You can get a decent knife at about every $5 step above $20 (not joking), all the way up to the mid/upper $100s before it really starts to get to be about spending money just to spend money.

How high end are you talking about?!
65-120$ kershaw or spydercos.
120-200$ bench made or zero tolerance
Or just go all out and get a Chris reeve inkosi drop point for about tree fiddy. That will probably be my next one, currently carrying a ZT assisted opening.

I usually carry the regular. Been wanting an excuse for getting the mini. The regular size is admittedly overkill for most days.

My exact daily carry. Nice knife

They aren't the value they used to be. $90 - $110 for a base model and they are pretty flimsy when stacked against other options in that price range. The Axis-lock is the only saving grace, it is the best EDC lock system with the SOG Arc lock in close second. I put both my Griptilians in AWT scales, really improves the feel of the knives but it does put them close to $200 all in.

Gerber Dime is my EDC.
You can thank me later...

Good choice. I carry a 21.

I got a Klein tools knife that’s sharp as hell, easy to sharpen and keeps an edge. Even killed and cleaned a small wild hog with it. Couldn’t ask for more from a pocket knife.

I've never understood the pocketknife $$$$
I carry a Buck 379 that is $18....and I find that a bit much. I sharpen it when it needs it, maybe twice a year at max.
I doubt I've ever carried one that was more than $30.
Then again, I have a skinning, bone, and several filets. I do use that 379 for small game because it is always on me. I don't need the high dollar steel in these new blades, though they are impressive.

Because I can and I want to?
I like having a good knife. I have lost very few knives in my life so that isn’t a concern for me.

I’ve been carrying a bubba blade sculpin lately & it’s been a good knife.

I'm old school when it comes to blades. I went on ebay and bought a new old stock Gerber from the 80s. Great quality and not a bad price.

I like this little Gerber.

Civivi makes a really good knife for the price. Look up some youtube reviews.

I carry a Benchmade 8551 BK Mediator or a 940 Osborne. The Osborne has been put through the ringer. I just got the 8551 so far I love it as well. Can't Go wrong with a Benchmade.
