I know many people in the same boat as you. Shift work is not good for you.

6am - 3pm M-F for me but I don't punch a clock, beat traffic, and can work from home if need be. 5 weeks vacation as well..

I agree and would hate a job that was 8-5 and punch a clock..

Best hours possible. Used to have these hours. Moved to a desk 8-5 and regret waking up every single day

I am always keeping my eyes open for a new/different job. Went on an interview about 3 weeks ago. Didn't know anything about the hours.. Turns out all the shifts are 12 hours.. I was okay with that.. Starts with 7a to 7p.. 3 days on and a day off and 5 days on then you get 7 days off.. But the next set turns around to 7p to 7a same setup of amount of days for the next set of days.. But also if someone calls in sick you add at least 6 hours to a shift and you have to come back to your shift 6 hours later and work a 12.. Also you have to work on your 7 days off if someone takes vacation. Seems a lot of overtime but you're working a lot..

RUN. Money is good, but shift hours drain the life out you over time.

Yeah.. That's pretty much I have decided.. The interviewer did say that he has had people walk off the job in the middle of the shift. LOL.. I was thinking that this job just doesn't hire enough people..

If I had my way, it'd be 6 to 3 for normal office business.

Let most working people off when their kids get out of school. I may be too optimistic that people would use those extra hours in the afternoon for good productive things that would improve their family life/mental well-being, but I think it would be better for everyone.

Mandatory extra PE in the morning for K-8 when they get to school earlier.
