Bill Maher bitches to Adam Schiff about California turning into a hellhole

Honestly, Maher frustrates me since I think the Left has gone so fricking insane that his views and values more align with the Right at this point. I’ve said it on here many times, but Maher is currently the late night host furthest on the Right when a decade ago he was furthest to the Left. It’s not him that’s changed (save for a major case of TDS) but the Left that has changed.
Everything he’s bitching to Adam Schiff about here is what the Right is vowing to solve. These left wing pundits and politicians look at Bill as if he was insane and that his eyes and ears are lying to him about objective reality. These pundits and politicians have simply turned into a legion of Mouths of Sauron and they’re telling us to ignore the army of orcs behind them. When Bill points out to the Left something that anyone with a brain can see their response, “What are you talking about? There is no war in Ba Sing Se”.
Unfortunately that right after Rosie, Bill is the original Trump hater and he lets his TDS cloud his vote. You give me 12 hours with Bill, I bet I can make him pinch his nose and vote for Trump kicking and screaming. Simply threatening to pack the Supreme Court, I think Bill is smart enough to know that alone would lead to civil war. He is rightfully concerned with civil war if the Left doesn’t learn to embrace Trump supporters. How anyone can understand what packing the Supreme Court means and then vote for Biden/Kamala is beyond me, unless of course they want civil war. I do think if you could exorcise TDS out of the average person, then 75% of the country would vote for Trump simply due to what the Left represents. Bill clearly sees what the Left represents, but he lets TDS control his and his country’s trajectory. It’s baffling to me when he so clearly sees the writing on the wall from the Left.

The problem with centrist Democrats is having to admit they’re wrong about Trump. They’ve invested so much personal hate and animosity towards Trump it’s nearly impossible for them to let it go.

Nailed it. They’ll never be able to admit they were wrong after 4 years of absolute hate. Also, it’s easy for us to all sit here and call them weak minded, and maybe they are, but sometimes I wonder if the roles were flipped and our world view was constantly confirmed online and on TV if we wouldn’t be the same.

Schiff says at the end of the interview that he doesn’t think there’s anything incompatible with pro business and progressive ideology. That is completely wrong. Modern progressive ideology is completely anti-capitalism at its core.

Well he did say he was rooting for the economy to fail and people need to hurt to get Trump out. That’s about as left as you can get.

That was the TDS talking and I’m sure if you asked him now he’d say that was idiotic. I agree that he has one of the worst cases of TDS, but I don’t think that makes him further left. Their feud goes way back which I think its the primary source that one of his personal archenemies is President.

Obama didn’t exactly have an easy time with the conservative media. Although I’ll admit that the conservative media isn’t quite the behemoth to shrug off like the liberal media.

I can remember when late night was about entertainment (most comical stuff) and almost never talked politics. I guess Letterman started it and Leno did some parody kind of stuff but these guys now are 100% full tilt bonkers with their politics. Lots of people get their political news from these dangerous arse clowns.

Yeah, imagine if AOC or Robin DiAngelo went on Bill’s show? Bill would absolutely wreck them. Fallon, Meyers, and Colbert instead fawn over them.
He also agreed with Trump that we should call it the Chinese virus, which almost everyone on the Left thinks is racist. Imagine if any of the other late night hosts said the following:
“Viruses come from China like shortstops come from the Dominican Republic.”

But there’s a huge difference between a conservative’s world view and a progressive Democrat’s world view. We conservatives believe in personal accountability and equal opportunity but we won’t guarantee equal outcomes. The progressive Democrats lure gullible American voters with the promise of equal outcomes through the confiscation of wealth and reducing the personal freedom of other Americans.
So back to your point, if the script was flipped it would benefit America if the MSM was affirming the principles the nation was founded on. It’s pretty simple, the conservative ideology is never going to destroy America because there’s a higher standard of objective morality in the people who subscribe to conservatism/Americanism. The progressive Democrats must be very careful exposing their end game agenda because there’s still many Americans who don’t yet subscribe to a quasi socialist/Marxist style government......this is why Dims are exceedingly deceptive. Look at their candidate for president, he won’t answer critical policy questions because he knows if he’s truthful he’s going to lose a lot of centrist voters.

The left isn’t strictly anti-capitalism : they are beholden to big money - including Big Tech - they are anti-freedom, specifically With respect to anyone who they do not agree with politically.
I am certainly pro-capitalism, but it’s past time that we have a serious discussion about curtailing the ability of big business and foreign interests to influence D.C. and the rest of our country.
