Being he is looking at an AWD there is a good chance a different tire could cause issues on the AWD and/or traction control.

freaking campus police watched me and offered zero assistance.

I would definitely soak up watching a squirrel change a tire.

I taught my wife and kids to never change a flat tire, always use some type of road service. Your life is too valuable to risk getting killed changing tires on the side of the road a couple of feet from moving traffic.

I don't get this, even if they're sitting in the car just waiting for roadside to appear, it is still dangerous as a car can come crash into you at any moment.

And then there are people like me. Added winch and bumper, toolbox in bed with a bunch of stuff from tools to jumper cables to 7-800 round of ammo.

Several firarms in truck. All together its 1000# easy. Winch/bumper is probably at least 400#...

Yeah, the auto manufacturers don't care what mods you do the vehicle they built once you buy it. Nor do they really care to sell you a fuel efficient vehicle, especially in times like this where gasoline prices are low and demand for fuel efficient vehicles remains lower. They care about meeting CAFE requirements and avoid paying penalties.

Let me help you then, you would rather your wife or child change a tire on the roadside with cars and semis driven by distracted drivers on cell phones passing only a couple of feet from them than get road service that cost very little, has warning lights, and other safety equipment allowing your wife or kid to avoid getting killed?

QJenk already summed it up. And I'd rather my wife and kids be able to help themselves than rely on someone else and live in fear.

The chance of the hypothetical you're scared of is miniscule.

Can you meet me at a bank like an hour away so I can take a look at it?

Google “ killed while changing tire” and tell me again how hypothetical it is.

There were dozens killed in 2019 and 2020, and unfortunately this just happed

“3 hours ago - A 55-year-old woman is dead after she and her husband were hit by a pickup truck while changing a flat tire along I-94.“

My wife's Accord has a donut. I've changed so many damn tires on that vehicle that I probably need to check the tread on the donut.

Just buy 4 donuts and put them on. When one goes flat you already have the right size.

I haven't seen a full size spare in years, but I thought everything came with a donut spare these days.

Even if you call AAA, the only thing they can do is tow you to a tire shop? So stupid.

Fix a flat jacks with the TPMS.

My car didn’t come with a spare because a donut couldn’t fit over the Brembos.

My brother called me a couple weeks ago to go put spare on his wife’s vehicle because he was out of town. I told him I don’t even put my own spare on, I call road side assistance and let them do it

Sienna's can have a spare. It's located in the middle of the vehicle.

Only FWD Sienna can, not AWD.

What if you don’t have cell service?

And if you do have cell service, what if your assistance is 30 miles away and then they have to tow you to a shop that’s another 30 miles away? All that when you could have taken care of it yourself in 15 minutes?

I only buy vehicles with a full size spare, let alone not even having a little donut

We have roadside assistance because I got tired of having to leave work to change a tire for my wife. I've never used it myself.

I’ve changed two tires in the last ten years or so. I’m a nice sized guy in my 30s and it took an hour to get the lug nuts off both times. There is no way a woman or someone a little older could have changed it. It’s almost easier to just call someone.
