You must not drive very far from home. I may be 150 miles from home a couple times a week.

Full time AWD?

Full time AWD is finicky with flats. It screws with the torque vectoring. That’s why on these cars when you have a flat that needs replacing you replace both tires in either the front or rear.

You can go without runflats if you want. The ride will be better as well.

That’s what I would do but I would still want a spare and there is no spare tire compartment. You could throw one in the trunk but obviously that takes up trunk space and the third row seat it’s sitting behind can’t fold down flat anymore.

I can't imagine waiting for help for 5hrs for a flat tire.
I changed my last flat in a parking lot at a local college campus. My husband was in a meeting so I couldn't reach him, my son was an hour away, and I wasn't waiting on roadside assistance. The part that pissed me off: freaking campus police watched me and offered zero assistance.

That and not as many people know how to change a tire (really a wheel) or have the proper equipment to change a tire.

If you don't know how to change a tire/wheel, you don't need to even be behind the steering wheel. It's not exactly rocket science. I mean the owner's manual breaks it down barney-style for you.

And my 2015 Audi came with a donut and all the equipment to change it out. And that's with it being a full time AWD (Quattro) vehicle.

They charge extra. Same for floor mats. Surprised they don't charge for a bumper or two.

NOLA to BR a few times a week.

I've never had a problem though, might just be good luck.

Likely it cannot come with a spare due to the full time AWD system.

AWD is AWD. Just make sure you read your manual about potential damage you will do with a spare of the wrong size

Yup. Same with my Audi and my wife's Toyota Highlander, both full time AWD.

The odd thing is for Acura’s, at least the MDX, the 2WD doesn’t come with a spare BUT the SH-AWD does.

I am on my 3rd Jeep Wrangler, so full size matching spare is a given. Hell I got a 37" spare now

Oddly the only vehicle I have a spare for, and the only one I would never change on the side of the road.

Hi lift jack scares the shite out of me.

What's everyone's plan if yall get two flats?

My new car has neither a spare nor run-flats.

I have AAA

I don't like run-flats TBH. They make the ride much more harsh.

I bought a 2020 Sierra in January, it has a full size spare. My Wife has a 2013 Santa Fe, it also has a full size spare.

I have had two blowouts (from sidewall damage) on run flats. Yeah, you can't drive after one, but I was able to safely stop from 80 mph on 1-10.

My wife's BMW didn't have a spare, it had run flats. It stressed my wife out. She made sure to ask about a spare tire when we purchased her new car.

I've had plenty of flats before in 27 years of driving but not like my wife. Hers are generally operator error. She's a curb hitter.
