Seems like BR is inland enough that we won't need to evac basically ever.

If this path holds or if it shifts slightly back East again is it likely we see new wind records in BR?

Storms always end up moving faster than originally thought and making landfall early. We were thinking landfall sometime in the middle of the night Friday/Saturday. Now it’s getting close to 1 pm Friday.

How big of a fricking Miss is this by the NHC? If I’m the Yucatán, I would be pissed off big time. I mean, look at the time markers for 2am and 4am Wednesday morning. Jesus NHC, get your shite together.

Well, since some thought it would land close to a Cat 5 and wipe Cancun off of the map, there may not be too much complaining since it made landfall as a Cat 2. Hell, the Webcam at the Hard Rock is still up.

Anyone know how a bald cypress holds up in the wind? I have one in the backyard that is about 50-60ft tall.

They hold up great, until they don't.

The Yucatán doesn’t even have a radar station, so I doubt they give two fricks about the weather.

That being said, yes, it was a bigger than average miss even after the storm was named.

I'd take that. At least you'll have some daylight to see what the hell is going on. I hate night storms.

You have asked if you should leave BR a couple of times now while also telling people about Euro tracking. Also trying to get people to take ban bets on where it lands. You can't put the two together?

frick the euro

They updated it before the season to supposedly improve performance in the tropics by making the pressure to wind relationship more realistic. However, it has been pretty bad at times this season and, if it holds to the seasonal trend, might start adjusting back east over the next few runs.

Slack you still planning on leaving MC?

Anyone staying in The Berry?

My in-laws have a house with a gen in the Berry and are considering riding it out there but they have an apt in New Orleans and are just being hardheaded. They stayed in the Berry for Laura but this will be a little different I for them there I believe

What’s the latest time I should leave BR? Should I even be evacuating BR?

If you’re evacuating from anywhere in LA, you should leave by tomorrow night, Friday at dawn at the latest.

If you’re in BR, trees are your problem. That’s obviously situational.

If you’re tiger91, I know your husband HAS to be around to check the grain silos, so while you probably should leave and this will likely be your first direct hit ever, do whatever you want.

Is this thing even a hurricane right now? The fast windspeed found by hunters is 69mph.

Well they can’t survey over land and the storm center and winds are over land, so...

Yeah, probably still a hurricane.

I've seen this posted a few times, and it blows my mind. Look, I know Mexico is very poor. But with all the tourism dollars that flow in to the Yucatan, you would think they could afford a radar of some kind.

Damn. It'd be great if this one would jump east like that. Sorry FL and Bama peeps.
