The models seem pretty aligned from all the graphs I’ve seen here.

I don’t know what kind of impact Mexico could have on the track but that seems to be the only real question mark.

Decent, but that’s an impossible question to answer this far out.

Lake Charles isn’t under the gun but doesn’t have the all clear yet either.

I’d say so. The models are pretty locked in.

Still remember riding down to cocodrie after Andrew and seeing a warf hanging out the windows of Lumcon and random shite in the marsh. Barely made it back to Houma with our houseboats as they were at cocomarina at the time. Bay St Elaine camp gone. Will be interesting to see the impacts this one produces with all the land lost

heard the same thing when it was happening.

It’s very interesting that the NHC is stating that despite the notable westward shift in the models overnight, it’s track remains with an eastward bias because of the time of year. Hmmmm? Ignoring the models based on climatology is a “human override” of technology. Let’s see who’s right.

Basically no impact if it hits in the current location

Now do Lafayette. Sorry...you guys do a tremendous job in these threads and I follow them, but aside from simply wanting to know many of us use this as a real place to find out what to expect for our area. Can't not ask, you know?

On the current projected path, we basically good in Laffy? Thanks guys.

So decision time is Thursday for us in the NOLA area?

I'm fine riding out a Cat 1-2 that has always been that way.

I'm less willing to ride out a Cat 4 that we hope will be a Cat 1-2 at landfall.

Yeah with this thing blowing up the way it's predicted, it's going to be a tough decision on leaving or staying. I can already predict the discussion with my wife with me trying to assure her that it's going to weaken, but she's not going to believe me.

We've got a 6-week-old son. Live in Gonzales. I'm with you on riding out a cat 1-2, and evacuating for anything greater. My hang-up with this storm is that it is supposed to be a Cat 3-4 in the gulf, then weaken to a 2 right before landfall. I don't want to be sitting at home, a-hole clinched, waiting on a major hurricane to degrade. That sounds like hell.

Lafayette isn’t good on the path, but I wouldn’t make evac plans yet either.

I would agree. But I was a youngster sitting at Guard unit waiting to head to Morgan City for Andrew.

Gustav I had a family in house and watching tornados snapping trees 8'-10' up in yard gave me a new respect for these storms.

I’d be getting ready to deal with a pretty strong hurricane in Lafayette. Lafayette is close enough to the likely landfall that small shift could bring it right through town.
