Some very intense winds in the SW eyewall on the last pass. 113kts very near the surface.

Those of y’all with babies that want to leave
The Country Inn & Suites in Ruston looks like it has rooms
It’s pretty nice & they allow pets
There were several people checking in with large dogs from LC when we were checking out

I’d be getting ready to deal with a pretty strong hurricane in Lafayette.
I'm preparing for at least a west eye wall. If the storm gets sheared up and weakened then it would likely be lopsided, no? If so it would be a breeze (no pun intended).

The only way I’d ever leave Baton Rouge for a hurricane is if you need electricity to survive. And I’d have a automatic generator if that was the case anyways. It’s ridiculous to scare all the chodes lurking on here into thinking they need to evacuate Baton Rouge.
A generator isnt going to stop a tree from falling through your roof on top of you while you're trying to sleep

Yeah BR evac is about quality of life, not quantity.

Will you make the call to evac if it hits a 3-4 in the gulf?
or wait last-minute to see if it downgrades?
Probably decide by Friday afternoon, not really sure how long i'm willing to wait with the baby.

Some are projecting it as cat 4 before it hits Yucatán and then back down to a 3 mid gulf with possible further deintensification before ultimate landfall. I’m hopeful that Cooler water and some shear will knock some of the wheels off.
Just back from the hardware store and grocery and no activity .

Yeah, I’m not leaving BR for a 3 or lower. Maybe I’d consider it for a 4 or a 5.
But if power will be out for weeks, I'm out.

How will Gamma affect Delta? I assume that there will be no Fukuhara Effect because Gamma is so much weaker.

Can always see what happens and leave BR a day or 2 after

What is the consensus on this thing for Nola on Saturday? What are we expecting in terms of wind and rain. I had a surprise party planned for my wife with people coming in from out of town, but it's looking like I'm going to have to cancel.

Notes for U.S. on #Delta:
More westerly track over gulf increases odds of strong, dangerous hurricane at landfall, even if weakening
LA at highest risk, but chances of impacts are elevated from Galveston, TX to Pensacola, FL
Thursday last full day to make preparations

At what point will it become more clear as to which side of the eyewall is going to have the most intensity? Most models put my home in the vicinity of the right wall.
