Lattimore and Williams are gone. We aren't going to have a secondary or QB next season.

He had absolutely no leverage to get that deal. What a shite deal on our part. Not a team in the NFL that would have given him more than 10mil

Lol

Since we drafted Kamara, he’s accounted for

41% of our rush yards
24% of our TDs
21% of our receptions
17% of our receiving yards

Didn’t play over 50% of the offensive snaps until week 10 his rookie year, missing 3 games, and playing the majority of 2019 with an ankle and knee

Some of you simps think you can replace that production with ty Montgomery or theo riddick type guys. Like have you ever watched Kamara cook

He’ll get injured tomorrow. Way to high for a rb, who was always injured last year.

I thought you weren't watching the Saints anymore.

Chargers got an absolute steal signing Ekeler to a 4 yr, $25M contract last year.

That's actually peanuts when you compare to what all the white RBs in the NFL make. No wonder he was mad at Brees

Per Mike Triplett, the deal only has $34M in guarantees, so we are protected if his production falls off. I see this as a win.

I see both sides to it. Runningbacks are probably the easiest position to overpay, considering shelf life and abundance of talent available coming out of college every year.

On the flip side, Kamara fits this offense like a fricking glove and is lethal when healthy. Hell, he played with a partially torn ligament and still posted respectable numbers.

34m in guaranteed is all that matters.

With Kamara and Thomas we can go cheap at an once Brees retires

Keep Ram for sure and if Lattimore leaves we will get a 3rd round pick.

For those acting like we won’t sign Ram or Lattimore because of this...y’all are dumb.

That said, we way overpaid for a back who gets injured too often.

I understand.

But, ratings are down in MLB, NBA, and the NFL.

Protests are real. I’ll watch the Saints tomorrow to see how they handle the BS.

Sure did. UDFA with one year of production, the Chargers had a lot of leverage. Ekeler camp signed that right away without a second thought

Kamara has averaged 100 targets a year, I don’t think people understand how to apply that value. To simply say RBs don’t matter doesn’t apply to a guy who sees 100 targets a year on offense

I always love when fans complain about contracts, as if it’s their money being used to pay it lol

Do people actually care about the money or more on how they feel it will impact the roster going forward. I feel like it’s 95% the latter. I’d much rather pay an established corner or all pro caliber tackle than a position that has proven to be highly replaceable in this offense. Pierre, Reggie, Sproles, etc all were fantastic in the passing game for us and pretty damn comparable to what Kamara has given us in the passing game. If a receiving back is a priority he could be had in the draft for a fraction of this price.

I used to care about big contracts (like Galette & Graham) tying up cap if the player goes downhill or gets traded, and the Saints still being on the hook for multiple years.

But that was when I used to care if the Saints won or lost. I'm pretty indifferent right now. I could watch or not watch. They could play or not play. Move or not move. Win or lose. It's all kinda meh.

And it's probably a low salary next year with all of '22 guaranteed, since the team is already way over the cap for '21

may7b3e if they signed for $8 mil

at $12m plus $15m SB no team would touch that deal unless you paid half of that contract for them
