Dear Students, Faculty and Staff, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced today that Louisiana will move into Phase 3 of its reopening plan on Friday, September 11. We wanted to assure you that LSU’s campus operations will remain largely unchanged. We are following our Roadmap to Fall document, and the policies and procedures outlined in it will be in place for the entire fall semester. Should any minor changes occur, we will update the campus community. As the Governor stated, moving to Phase 3 is not a removal of restrictions. At LSU, face masks will still be required in all public spaces, everyone must still fill out the TIGER Check daily symptom checker, and there are no plans to change the mode of instruction for courses.
To keep the LSU community as safe and healthy as possible, we continue to urge everyone on campus to get tested for COVID-19. In addition to the existing testing sites, there is a new site located on the south side of the UREC, near the sorority houses. Even if you do not have symptoms, please get tested as you could be asymptomatic and unknowingly spreading the virus to others. If you don’t have symptoms, you do not have to quarantine while you await your test results. Please continue to wash your hands, cover coughs and sneezes, and avoid large groups and social gatherings. Thank you, Tigers, for doing your part to help keep the rest of our community healthy. Tom Galligan Interim President & Professor of Law Stacia Haynie Executive Vice President & Provost Dan Layzell Executive Vice President for Finance & Administration and CFO
If we’re asymptomatically spreading, why shouldn’t we quarantine?

"please, everyone do your part to get these numbers as high as possible so we can help prolong this bullshite"

If they are asymptomatic how are they spreading it? Especially if others are wearing their protective masks.

My daughter is at OU. I have instructed her to NOT take any tests unless she is showing symptoms. Period. And if OU demands she test, to put me in touch with the person or department telling her she has to test.

I think they’re using false positive covid testing to practice for generating false positive Biden votes in the election.

CDC said this is FAKE NEWS.

The thing with testing is the testing results are only good until you come into contact with the next person. If they have Covid all the negative tests in the world are not going to be valid.
That's why I laugh when I read people argue that prostitutes are clean and safe if it is legalized because they can be tested every week. That test is only good until their first customer after testing.

Ole Miss is doing the same thing ... those who DID get tested by their choice "due to exposure" told others DO NOT GO WHATEVER YOU DO. Numbers are down because the students aren't getting tested. No one wants to quarantine and honestly, I don't blame them.
How do we really know that there are asymptomatic people who spread this? It was said that the tests are so sensitive that asymptomatic people may be testing for an old cold .. it could be false positives!

If you have a strain of bat flu that you didn’t know you had and might spread to others who didn’t know got it, you should get tested.

The thing that doesn’t make sense here is how often?
If you test negative in the morning you can still get exposed and be infected in the afternoon. So you test once a week? Once every two weeks? Unreasonable if you don’t have strong symptoms or have not been directly exposed to someone who has tested positive.

Stop Symptomatic testing. frick JBE.

They just want to pull more false positives because that’s all that the “asymptotic cases” BS is.

“Asymptomatic” is the biggest fraud perpetrated by this whole thing. %100 bullshite based on false positive tests.

So are we just supposed to get tested every fricking day? I have no symptoms today and should get tested, but what about tomorrow, and the day after?
This shite is so fricking stupid. I'll need to be hospitalized with symptoms before I have them shove a q-tip into my anal canal through my nose.

STOP GETTING TESTED YOU IDIOTS.
If you aren’t feeling well then stay home for a few days. If it gets bad, go to the ER. Simple as that.
