If you didn't get the cheese knife, you missed out- it's the greatest knife for cutting fruits and cheeses.

That literally was me for like 4 days.
I tried selling them to my relatives first, because that was the company training. I come from a long line of lower-middle class white trash and when I tried to sell them expensive knives, they laughed their asses off, so I quit.
You were smarter than me. I lasted a full 2 weeks. I was determined to make that thing work. After doing about 15 appointments with parents, neighbors, friends parents, aunt's, cousins, and even my football coach. I did not make a single sale. Not to mention I had no more leads because I used up my inner circle
I fricking hate that job. Not to mention my dad already knew about the company and it being a scam, but he played along and let me learn my lesson about being gullible. I fricking hate my dad's tough love lessons.

Whether you think the product is quality or not, it’s not a scam. It’s this weird thing call Business. Not everyone is held down in a cubicle life with the false security of “benefits”. Meanwhile, they are making someone else rich. Ftr, I’m not a cutco rep but I see this board is full of sheep that can’t think for themselves. Many average people who are entrepreneurs have become wealthy via network marketing

These knives will slice through your fingers like butter if you touch them wrong. I’ve heard many a story of people slicing their hands while washing them. Something that they’ve never worried about before.
The problem is two fold with dull knives. First, it takes more effort to slice through product and so you’re more apt to cut yourself with it trying to force it rather than letting the knife do the work, and secondly a cut from a dull knife is nastier than a cut from a sharp blade. The rule of thumb is always to simply keep the digits away from the business end of the knife. Good knife skills is utmost important in knowing how to grip a knife and knuckles to the blade, never fingers extended.

I have about 50 of them, including 2 sets of steak knives, and 2 kitchen shears... bread knives, tomato slicers, butcher knives, cleavers, sontoku, paring, carving, basically every knife they make.
They are not high end Japanese or German steel, but they are pretty nice. I can send them in piece-meal to be factory sharpened, whenever. The kitchen shears are the best you will find.
I have a couple of non-Cutco, high end chef knives, but the CutCo are my go to, everyday knives. I inherited probably of 1/3 of them. They are life-time knives, and my kids will likely inherit them.

Are these the knives that people sell door to door.. or used to sell door to door?
Take this for what its worth, but I knew a dude in college (which was about 18 years ago) who told me one semester he sold knives door to door.
According to him, they were actually quality knives, but it was a complete sham for the people who sold them in terms of what the company paid for them and the amount they paid people who sold them.

Cutco 7-5/8” petite chef. $142.00
ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS PRO CHEF’S KNIFE 7”. $134.95 retail
Global 8” classic chef knife $124.95 retail
Wusthof classic chef knife 8”. $159.95
Pay close attention to the construction of the handle. A knife can be a work horse, or work you like a horse, and keeping an edge Is very important.
Again I ask, why would I spend more or just slightly less for a significantly less quality constructed knife?

I've had them for years and I love mine, especially the steak knives. The warranty is definitely legitimate.
Friends of mine had the big Cutco knife block full of steak knives and just about every other knife they sell. It was lost in Katrina. She called Cutco to reorder and replace. They sent her the new block and all the knives for no charge at all.
Yes, they're pricey, but the quality is good and the warranty is great.

Cutco knives are legit as frick. Very well made and sharp as hell... a friend of mine found several at a garage sale a few years ago and sent them back and Cutco was like, “These are too badly worn/maintained... here’s some brand new replacements”
They’ve got a legit “customer first 100% of the time” customer service model.
I’ll never buy another knife from anywhere else.
eta: coincidentally, my future MIL worked for them in Olean for like 25+ years... so we probably won’t ever have to buy anymore anyway

Not worth the price.
That said, I always buy one knife when one of my kids' friends comes over to do the pitch.

I bought one, love it. Sucker is legit sharp. They actually called me to let me know they are going to be in my area, so they can come by to sharpen it. I am going to get another. They are made in USA also

We have had a set for many years and they are very good.

I spent a ton of time researching knives a while back. I ended up with a set of Shuns and 4 years later I have zero regrets. I prefer the Japanese knives to the German style. Idk where Cutco falls in comparison exactly but i’m pretty sure I’ll never have to replace these. If you want some quality info on knives, Google Alton Brown’s videos on knife selection.
