I loved visiting that on a field trip as a kid. I’ll donate

I would think there are at least 15 contractors with a presence in Huntsville that could contribute $100,000.

Leidos has been trying to gain market share in Huntsville recently and won the Human Lander Contract through Dynetics. Would be excellent PR for them.

Sheesh they’ve raised $85k since starting the page in an hour. Seems like they’re going to get the $1.5 by end of the week.
Loved space camp as a kid.

No kidding
And he is worth like 80 billion right this second
Ties into SpaceX and easy publicity for a milly? Easy choice.

Damn. I loved going to Space Camp.

frick.
I have great memories of visiting the Space and Rocket center over the years while living there. Even got to meet Alan Shepard when I went to Space Camp.
I don't see the city letting it close though. Hell they raised enough money to save UAH's Hockey program. This will be easy compared to that.
And this is all over the place on social media already. Post after post from my friends back home about it.

It won’t. They may get $10,000,000 from this fundraising campaign alone.
Lots of deep pockets among space camp alumni.

I'll honestly be surprised if the local aerospace industry doesn't donate quite a bit.

I know that "Anonymous" has always been a thing on GoFundMe, for people who don't want to post their name, but on the list of donations for this one, many $ amounts are missing. I don't remember seeing that before.

Our corporate giving department said we've already given them 100k since COVID started, but are aware of their financial situation and are evaluating it
Huntsville both needs the Space and Rocket Center and should do whatever it takes to subsidize it during COVID. It's a huge boon for tourism, an excellent resource of children interested in STEM, and a big reason Huntsville is what it is today.
I think people will do right by it. It's earned almost $110k in two hours.
