Well, I know Honeywell has a program for employees kids to go there for free 2 weeks out of the summer. A leadership type program. However Honeywell has also been having layoffs left and right the last couple of months, furloughing employees, and is planning another round of layoffs in October unless things change. We just lost 5 people from our site Wednesday that took early retirement packages.
That's not counting the 10 or so other people they have let go over the last couple of months, and we are an extremely small facility manpower wise. About 50 operators, ie, maint, and lab people combined. Add in the 35 or so admin/engineers , and that's almost 20% of the manpower at my facility.
Probably wouldn't look to good for them to plop down a large amount of money right now as charity, when people are losing their jobs. I'd imagine some of the other companies you mentioned are in the same boat.
Something like this has Elon Musk written all over it.

That's a bit cringeworthy considering it was Nazi V2 technology and the scientists that made it that put men on the moon.

Great childhood memories of this place. My dad took his physics class to compete in The Great Moonbuggy race every year for over a decade. I wonder if they're still going to host that event.

You should look at a to-scale comparison of a V-2 and a Saturn V. There is plenty of evidence that Von Braun was a Nazi, whether out of mere expediency or not, but to say that "V-2 technology" put men on the moon is ridiculous.
Even setting aside the difference in size and power, consider the rudimentary nature of the V-2's guidance systems compared to the ones that reached the moon. We're talking about hitting something across the English Channel within 100' or so, vs. hitting an object in outer space with similar precision.
Consider the life support systems used for Apollo, and all of its different stages and modules. I don't really see much V-2 in any of it.

If you go to the museum in Huntsville they are sitting right next to each other. We went this past weekend, they are doing a good job with social distancing and making sure people aren’t grouping. We donated a bit, daughter really wants to go to space camp.

Well that money will float them through the winter. Additional donations might extend their life support further depending if our COVID response remains in full force past the winter (if it does, I frankly have worries that extend well past the Space and Rocket Center though)

Once this all blows over I’m sure they still anticipate holding it. NASA and others scope out events like that one for young talent to hire so it’s a really beneficial event to host for all parties involved.

Yeah, I don't expect it to go away. There's too much interest in the industry for that to happen.
