And the numbers of new cases continue to go up?

What will JBE blame it on if we decide to buckle down for a few weeks? Also, what will he do if there is a protest or demonstration larger than 50 people?

It's the perfect plan. If everyone wears masks and, after a couple of weeks, the case count continues to rise, we will have proven all the experts wrong! Think about it, it's a win/win. If it works and COVID disappears as some "experts" claim, then its over. If not, the experts are idiots. How can you possibly lose?

I'm in.

More crap will be closed down because we'll continue to ignore the reduced death count.

It's a win win for the states and hospitals as they get more Federal money. The news gets more viewers and clicks and liberals get to use it politically against Trump. Rich people will be fine and so will the poor on Government subsidies.

Once again middle class working Americans will be hurt the most over this and be expected to grin and bear it.

They’ll still say we aren’t doing enough. Not enough compliance.

I keep hearing, “ if everyone would just comply and wear masks, then we can get back to normal soon.” However I would like to hear some numbers from this crowd. At what point statistically, would it be “safe” to open everything back up? As in what number of cases/deaths/hospitalizations? Seems like this just keeps getting moved around and the goalpost keep moving.

That would be unlikely. But I would love to find out if that was the case.

I just picked up an iced coffee and no one in the coffee shop was wearing a mask except the folks behind the counter and me. Yesterday I was at Harbor Freight and other than me and one or two other folks and the workers, no masks.

I put mine on when I walk in, and take it off when I walk out. There is a bottle of hand sanitizer in the cup holder in the console of my car which I use when starting the car.

It isn't hard or inconvenient.

If you wear a mask and social distance, how exactly will the numbers go up?

Idk, maybe we should try it instead of doing nothing while people die and the world laughs at us

This is basically where we are now. For all the fuss about masks, the overwhelming majority of people are wearing them. Some worn incorrectly, some crappy masks, but compliance has been pretty high. But some are so emotionally invested in the mask thing that they don't realize that its effectiveness is limited. It has never been the silver bullet they think it is.

As for what to do, there is only one answer: Carry on with our lives and let this virus run its course. The shutdowns were a failed and futile strategy that accomplished nothing.

In Washington state everybody distances and complies well. I have an exemption yet try to wear one around the old and in tight quarters. Despite numbers going down they kept implementing stricter measures on masks. Of course now they won't lift them because masks are "working" which doesn't tell the full story. Guess we'll have to wear them forever.

These dictators will change the narrative as they see fit and people let them. At 50, I'm so disappointed in my city and country.

I’m down to find out. Let’s put the pressure on him and follow the rules so well that he ends up embarrassed if it flops...

...or maybe ends up helping.

The more we test the more cases there will be, just quit testing and that goes to 0, problem solved

I imagine JBE frantically checking in with the scientists every 10 minutes for vaccine updates. He’s only got 1 plan, and that’s a vaccine.
