Between this and the conversion of all the overtime everyone worked into comp time, I expect a LOT of cops to start taking a ton of leave and/or calling in sick.

Dumb Blazio has nearly turned Manhattan into a no-man's land. It looks empty.

Coronavirus, extended shutdowns, protests, riots, and looting along with his idiot police policies have scared people away. Escape from NY has become a reality for many.

“You have to be crazy to stay on a job where you are losing money, abused by the people you are trying to protect and not appreciated by the politicians,” the source said.

A Manhattan detective also noted the impact of controversial criminal justice and bail reform laws.

“It is frustrating — you work on a case and then the suspect is let go,” the 25-year veteran said.

“Why put your job on the line, when no one appreciates you or has your back?”

Painting black lives matter on Fifth Avenue is a real business builder.

I hope every cop in every blue check city retires or takes a job in the suburbs. Let the cities burn.

The real impact will be a few years from now, the quality of people going into law enforcement is going down significantly. People thought there were too many "bubbas with a badge" before haven't seen anything yet.

It's not that they won't let them, it's that they can't process the paperwork because there's too much of it.

Title misleading, article says applications limited due to 400% increase over normal levels

Dumb Blasio is making NYC into hell again. Reminds me of the 70's, 80's and early 90's, but this is looking worse.

My daughter had been trying to sell her spacious house in NC for years. It's a very nice 4,000 sq ft home in a nice area. Now, she put it on the market and it was gone in a week with offers for more than she asked. She said she couldn't find a new place to buy because everything is going with multiple offers as soon as it hits the market.

Bear in mind that people coming from NY who sold their place here see a beautiful large home with low taxes for $250,000 and they think, I could buy four of those with the cash in my pocket.

I just hope they have learned their lesson!

I wish this was actually a good thing. Most likely means a mass blue exodus into red areas. And America’s greatest city will be a shithole again.

This is why we don’t let children make decisions for us

Glad my son and I went there in November; I do not see a need to go back again anytime soon.
