I use the word expert loosely but my SIL is a front line worker in Houston who recently spent a few days in New Orleans & said there was a noticeable difference in protocol & enforcement here vs there.

We aren’t protecting vulnerable populations

It’s a lot harder to get laid when they got a line outside the bar and my stocks are going down

So the two people with the worst info are a physician and someone who works in Internal Data Controls at the states largest hospital system

I thought I read that Houston hospitals were at 90% capacity. Was I just imagining that? It’s possible, I took a gnarly nap today

What capacity do you usually run your hospital at?

In general, if a hospital is averaging less than 75-80% capacity it is probably losing money

Also saw where of the icu capacity in Houston at one facility cited only 25% was for covid. The 2 month shut down has undoubtably led to a backlog of normal procedures taking up space.

If anything, this shows why the one size fits all approach was a failure. Texas shutdown when the virus wasn’t really in the state, now it’s here and a second shutdown is not economically feasible.

ICU beds 97% capacity in Houston. Its not exactly rosey situation in TX. They've been open longer than Louisiana though by a few weeks. Will see if Louisiana numbers remain low in 2-3 weeks from now.

There’s a lot to dislike about JBE to be sure, but he hasn’t been a bad governor

But doesn’t know anyone that has gotten COVID, right lmao?

Can’t take anything you say seriously. You want to argue, you don’t want to provide solid, unbiased info. That’s a bad combination.

At one hospital.

From that article:

At the Texas Medical Center in Houston, 97 percent of ICU beds were occupied on Tuesday. Twenty-seven percent of those ICU patients have COVID-19.
