Trend or not?

Seems to me that football has given him the platform he has to speak out.

Madness, I tell ya.

Bleacher Report

quote:

Eagles is a Houston native set to enter his junior season. Last season, he reeled in 32 receptions for 522 yards and six touchdowns.

With No. 1 wideout Devin Duvernay and No. 2 receiver Collin Johnson making the leap to the NFL, Eagles was expected to have a bigger role in 2020 and potentially emerge as quarterback Sam Ehlinger's top target.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a group of misguided people THIS gassed up before.

This is wild.

It's probably effective

Southern dudes would be taking knees and holding up signs within a week if CFB were seriously threatened

Good.

Roger Goodell put a bullet in football and these protests will smother any remaining life out of it.

Time for a new professional football league.

Well.. giving up a golden opportunity for yourself and a potential multi-million dollar career is one way to fight racial injustice I guess

Guaranteed he plays. Spineless.

I hope he doesn’t though. See how that works out.

Does this guy think there isn't 100 people behind him waiting to play?

I get the frustrations and agree that something needs to be done, but how about people start suggesting ways to combat whatever perceived injustice they are experiencing instead of just being a crybaby.

I think everyone sees the problem they are protesting, but no one has proposed anything besides OMB and "vote democrate."

And as soon as his draft stock starts to tank, he will forget all about the fake rage

Pull his scholarship immediately. Make him pay his own way if he wants to graduate.

And Brennan has not had one problem with what I surmise is a scholarship paid to him by mostly white alumni and supporters. Oh the irony huh?

Has any career offered a greater proportion of black men (often from disadvantaged backgrounds) the chance to dramatically improve their/their family’s SES and accumulate generational wealth the way that pro sports have?

It’s very hard to square that with the idea of overwhelming systemic oppression, frankly. But if he wants to bite the hand that feeds him, so to speak, I guess that’s his right.

excellent, now he will go back to be a hood rat instead of doing well and getting drafted and becoming a millionaire, all so he can virtue signal his racism over a false narrative

more hood rats just doing dumb hood rat stuff

Never heard of him before today and if he quits playing football, thereby forfeiting his scholarship, I doubt we will evwr hear about him again.
