Odds for Burrow's Bengals to make the playoffs. 6.75 to 1 - Good bet? Bad bet?

Cincinnati Bengals +675 -1115 [Vegas Insider]

And it is a 14 team playoff this season.

Not going to bet the farm, but I like the odds. You?

Eh, I love Joe but a rookie QB on the worst team in the league and coming in with no OTAs isn't a recipe for a playoff run.

They’re in a really tough division. Hard to see them not finishing last, regardless of how good you think Burrow’s going to be right off the bat.

He has weapons on the outside if Green is fully healthy, his O-line is meh and defense isn't so good.

There's a reason they had the #1 pick.

Took LSU for the SEC & Natty in '19 - and Burrow for the Heisman

[also had LSU for the SEC & Natty in '18 - so there's that]

If Zac Taylor runs the LSU/Saints offense (or something close), then I think they are close a lock to win 9 games. Burrow has the WRs and the RB to make that O score well. The O-Line only has to give him 2 full seconds.

If Taylor runs a bunch of old-school crap - then no shot.

Bottom line for me: at least a 1 in 3 shot to make the playoffs... And almost 7 to 1 payout.

Nice Pot odds

Are you comparing LSU at the collegiate level to Cincinnati at the pro one?

In a sense, sure. But the +675 bet is to make the playoff (14 teams in this year) not win the Super Bowl.

And I will likely throw 10 or 20 at the Super Bowl win as well at 200 to 1.

i think its more likely he has a mirror of archies career with the saints, where he has bad teams and bad coaching his whole career

he is locked in for 6 years with the bungles, 5th year option plus a franchise tag option so he aint going no where whether they suck or not

Yeah, can't feel sorry for ole Joe on that one. That 5th and 6th year (with a bit of planning) makes Joe very comfortable financially for life. (franchise QB is about 30 million a year in 2020)

And he should have a 10 to 15+ year career, IMO

Bengals are winning 10 games this year(if they play a full season) and making the playoffs. The team is actually pretty loaded and has the ability to make a dramatic turnaround. They don't have any big holes and they have the cap/flexibility to grab the best players when the next wave of cuts happen. Burrow will shine..

Sure, give me odds. 6 to 1..

Big Ben is over 300lbs, Baker is Baker and Jackson is going to get hurt. Bengals are stealing the Division, plus play a last place schedule..

I can’t imagine the score if LSU and Ohio State had played 55-10 maybe?

They'll improve but Baltimore still really good, Cleveland and Pitt are still decent (if Mayfield can bounce back, they are a solid team).

Haha!

The idea that rookie Burrow is that much better than experienced Dalton is laughable.
Except to the purple glasses wearers.

Nobody remembers how crappy Peyton was his rookie year apparently.

That’s a good thing he’ll only need 2 seconds, because the Bengals were at the bottom of the league last year averaging 2.3 seconds of pass protection.
