Have you ever seen a feedlot or an industrial hen house? No way we will run out of meat anytime soon.

At the Farmers Market today, we picked up two chuck roasts, two New York strips, six pounds of chicken breasts, two pounds of meatloaf mix, two pounds of ground sirloin and three pounds of applewood smoked bacon. No shortage here.

It’s getting tight for sure. People can get pissed about people filling up freezers but if you don’t, someone else will. It’s just human nature. You can click all the red arrows you can find. I’ve got a freezer full of ground beef, chuck roasts, and ground sirloin.

yeah, because of the processing plants being down, because of out breaks, it's hitting the chain of supply.

I saw this at Sam's club in Madisonville just a few hours ago. Not sure why my local Ponchatoula store Bohning's which has stores in Bedico, Robert and Loranger has been short of nothing.
I am really not a conspiracy type, but I really wonder what is going on when local stores have plenty of everything but the chains are empty. In Sam's earlier they literally had nothing but ground turkey meat.

In prairieville yesterday and got a whole brisket and two whole filets. Grabbed some boneless skinless chicken from another store. Only thing I couldn’t find was Veron’s green onion sausage... had to settle.

I've seen some real shite steaks at places like rouses etc. Not for any cheaper. Looks like cuts of brisket with no fat marbling at all.

Vegetarian here. Hopefully no tofu shortage!

I’ve got a .270, 300 acres a few thousand rounds and pigs a plenty. No meat shortages for me.

Found some decent (not great) ribeyes at Walmart late last week. Snagged 4 of those and fired them up today for Mother’s Day. Those were the last ribeyes in the store when I bought them, and they haven’t been back in stock that I’ve seen.
Bought some lower quality cuts from our local grocery a few weeks ago, and the meat quality was terrible.
Time to get my cattle feedlot back in operation. Wife has resisted so far, saying kids would be traumatized by butchering cattle that they’ve helped raise. Apparently that scarred her childhood. My childhood was enjoying the frick out of raising them, and then enjoying them even more when they hit my plate (not to mention the extra dinero I’d pick up from selling a couple sides of beef).

This is like the TP shortage. A few random stores are out. A few pictures get on the internet and millions of people freak out over the same 3 pictures. They all run to the stores to hoard meat creating a shortage.

Went to HEB yesterday afternoon in Richmond/Rosenberg. Limits on meat but there was a lot of it. Stacked high and deep. The HEB supply chain in the Houston area is fine.

When someone mentions the meat shortage, I tell them that the concern with so many processors getting sick was that the meat would get tainted with the virus. I recommend plant-based alternatives since plants can’t get the WuFlu.
I figure that will leave more meat on the shelves for me.

We have a contractor who loves to crappie fish and I love to eat crappie.
Works out well for me.
