The Male Room will reopen for business on Friday, April the 17th at 10 a.m.
The National Guard will be showing up at 8am and won't be looking for blowouts.
They will be shut down before it even opens. Kay needs to make an example out of the Male Room. If not, it's going to be anarchy with every non-essential business opening up during the lock down.
This is a political "edgy" move by the Male Room. They are making more money sitting their arse at home collecting unemployment + $600 each week, a Trump Check and saving lives then they would be cutting men's hair for $15 a clip.
Hope this BS posturing from the barbershop is met with tear gas and rubber bullets from the Guard.

I'm in Michigan and we have businesses following practical precautions and working all around us. Although most businesses are just sucking it up, no one is enforcing the stay-at-home recommendations with outside workers (i.e., roofers, landscape supply, construction...).
But a Barber Shop? I would think the liability alone would outweigh a week or so worth of revenue from haircuts?
Here's my gripe. Many are blaming the seemingly over-protective governors. The president could simply revise his order and end all of this. Right now, left to their own opinions, consultation and lack of national direction, the states are all over the board.

Hopefully other businesses follow the lead
More like hope I these governments lighten up on the quarantine. They’re killing small business.
What’s the problem if the guy sets up shop outside, wears a masks, bleaches his equipment after each use, and the line is 6ft apart like everywhere else? Or hell, do it inside, open up the door for fresh air.
That seems much more sanitary than the crowds at wal mart and the grocery stores, with thousands of people breathing on all the food we’re buying.

this is the part that cracks me up
I will not say social distancing hasn't reduced the spread, but as long as this is true; a lot of the harm we are inflicting upon small businesses is just Kubiki theater to make it seem like Big Brother government is doing us all a solid.

As they should. How could I tell someone to forfeit their income when I still have an income.
They should be allowed to operate as normal. Perhaps they could switch to appointment only, to limit the number of people in the shop at 1 time. Properly sanitize their equipment after each customer, etc.

Good for them and this needs to happen more. I need a haircut in the worst way so i'd be inline there on the 17th.

Because it's been left up to them. There's nothing "seemingly" about it.

This guy was on 99.5 in Birmingham this morning. He's already booked for tomorrow and Saturday.

If this whole thing has one silver lining, it's really pointed out the authoritarian statists.
You keep fighting the good fight comrade.

so, there will be a court case & the outcome of it will be really important for everyone

Yeah the Big Brother quarantine rules certainly aren’t protecting that small business owner and his family.
The govt tells him his barber business is not essential and he could catch the virus himself and spread it. Yet while Big Brother tells him he can’t work, he is allowed to go to Wal Mart and catch the virus and spread it
Same could be said for many other small businesses. Much more reasonable options out there than a cut and dry blanket policy of essential and non-essential.

There's a reason why China only has 83k infected and 3300 deaths, Russia 28k infected, 200 dead and the US 650k infected and 31000 dead.
We have ten times the deaths of China and the Chinese are living 5 or 8 to a room, unbelievable pop density.
A holes like this dumbass barber trying to make a point and the OT types disregarding the stay at home is why America is losing to the virus vs a 3rd world country with 1.5 billion living on top of each other.
It's about being smart and safe for a couple months but the mouth breathers of this country who disregard masks, sanitization, stay-at-home, etc, are just extending the lockdown.
Stay the f at home and this will be over by Memorial Day. It's not that hard to understand but the "freedom folks" just keep spreading the covid like herpes at Coachella.
Is a haircut really worth getting people sick, sending them to the hospital, putting them on vents and sending them to their grave?
The govt is paying the barber and his staff more to stay closed than they would make by staying open. This barber is a POS and his actions are borderline traitorous. It is against a direct order of Trump and his governor and is potentially damaging to the welfare of the American citizens.

Because the CCP controls every piece of data that leaves the borders of the country and lies if the data puts them in a bad light. Remember the videos of them building massive prefabricated hospitals in Wuhan in the span of a week or two? Hint: it wasn't for an outbreak 1/5 the size of NYC's.

$28 before tip.
Here we go with this shite again. People are paying over $28 for a haircut that likely takes all of 10 minutes and then throw in the "before tip" line.
Barbers set their own prices. Evidently, this barber shop has set their prices quite high and have continued to raise them regularly, and people still argue over if they are tipping them enough. Tip them what? 10 bucks? That is a hell of an hourly rate barbers are making.
