Median barber salary in Alabama is $29,576. Another link shows the average pay being $37,700. Under unemployment these guys are making over $24 an hour. That works out to almost 50k a year.

Yes, because I(and you) can tell from a photo what each technicians commission/booth rental fee is. And the cost of product per client serviced.

Do you think that an average reported income for a profession that deals almost exclusively in cash is representative of the actual average income for that profession?

ETA: my barber makes ~$35 per haircut and is typically booked out 2 weeks

I’m still confused as to what law they would be breaking by being open.

What would the charge be? Who enforces it?

Other jurisdictions have been charging people with Disturbing the Peace. Which is bullshite. They are just charging people to intimidate them and you know damn well the DA will drop the charges later.

I’m not talking about what the client pays, I’m talking about the cost of the technician to complete a service.

The business owner is a different story, and I don’t pretend to understand how all of that is working currently. I know there are some federal aid options going around, but I won’t attempt to touch that

What I do know is that those techs are making similar, if not more, to stay home for a few weeks.

Pretty sure someone mentioned earlier they charge like $27.
If you weren’t such a nimrod you would know that a lot of men’s haircut places are charging that or higher.

And if you knew anything about women's salons, you'd know hairdressers charge 3x to 4x per client than barbers while taking only twice the amount of time per client.

Women spend money on hair and nails. Men don't. What's so difficult to understand?

This lame assed barber just trying to get free publicity by acting like a fake bad arse scoring points with the lame half of the OT who thinks this was a legit Cassavetes styled act of defiance when it was a publicity stunt from day one.

But it'll work OT baws will start going there once the lock down is over because he "stood up to Trump and Kay". What a joke.

DoL wages for these professions is usually low because the way it gathers data. Full time barbers generally make decent money.

A wôrking guy owes it to his family to be able to make a living, and you've been all over the gubments nuts in their valiant effort to keep people from doing that.

So you're damn right I support a person trying to save his business, feed his family or at least keep a roof over their head.

What?
