Link?

And Shelby County isn’t EBR.

Good for them.

I’m still confused as to what law they would be breaking by being open.

What would the charge be? Who enforces it?

It’s a mistake to equate laws with the words that come out of the governors mouth.

Won't they just revoke their business license?

I stopped getting my hair cut there after they raised the prices a few months ago. Was something like $28 before tip. It's one of those places that advertises free beers and relies on the affluence of the area. Everyone in there getting their haircut looks like they just rolled off the golf course.

I personally know business owners adjacent to my business. On Perkins 70808, that’s EBR

Bigger risk of his business and any barbers working there losing their barber's license. Not sure how difficult it would be to get those back though.

First question is, which agency will be responsible for showing up to shut them down?

I can see a huge crowd of their customers being gathered outside so it's going to be dicey for whoever shows up to order them to close.

I know it's EBR.

But you're assuming that because some EBR official has ordered a business to close that Shelby County, AL will do the same.

You're also being incredibly vague as to what business was forced to shut down.

this shop is right off HWY 280 in the new Winn Dixie strip mall (across from Home Depot & off HWY 119)

they are located in one of the wealthiest areas of Alabama & the owners are pretty well off

they are setting up to challenge the exec order

so, there will be a court case & the outcome of it will be really important for everyone

I am in a little networking group and one of their folks actually visited my group as a guest about 5 or 6 weeks ago

I just forwarded this article from OP to my group

I want to help them get the word out

This is the quickest way to get it shut down and give the cops an excuse to do it other than “staying open for business”

I stopped going there a few years ago because every girl there smokes and I got sick of smelling their nasty arse cigarette smelling hands. That, and they all spent their time gossiping with each other while they cut hair.

This. He knows he’ll be shut down. He’s looking for a court fight on the merits of the order.

Seems like barbershops should be able to stay open. Mandatory masks and gloves with the customer wearing a mask seems like minimal risk...

I really need a haircut
