According to LDH site, Looks like LA has 1,845 total ventilators. 973 (53%) are currently in use.

According to JBE by April 6th every vent and every hospital bed will be 100% utilized

What the frick happened to the recovery data block on the ldh site?

It’s gone.

So I assume no one is recovering? Or is it they just want to publish data that instills fear.

probably more that the recovery data was incredibly inaccurate

only a very small % of recovered were being counted

I think the larger point is that we are not seeing that exponential growth that everyone lectured us on last week

Phantom17 the doc for the state said flat out a few pressers ago that htey can't track them ... those that got tested and told to self quarantined are "assumed recovered" after 72 hours of no meds and no symptoms. His words, not mine. Don't know if we'll ever really know.

I understand your point, but uh if recovery data was inaccurate why would we think any other data these folks put out is accurate.

The hospitalization and ventilators data are more important and the rate of change of those two metrics have been decreasing. That’s a very good thing.

From a FB group for Corona in my area ... NO context of backlog tests. NO context for numbers in hospital. NO context for anything.

I'd like to see the numbers as well, but I think he's referring to the fact that recovery numbers are inaccurate b/c we aren't testing for it. It's easy to see when someone tests positive, checks in the hosptital, goes in ICU, gets on a vent, dies, or leaves the hospital. BUT no one really knows when someone is 'recovering' b/c we are sending people home to recover. I don't think they aren't going back to get an 'all clear' test.

Good numbers. Despite a large number of old test results coming in:

- The rate of increase for hospitalization has been decreasing (flattening) over the past three days.

- The rate of increase for ventilators has been decreasing (flattening) over the past three days.
