You can be an all star in any major sport. What are you picking?

Baseball and it isn’t even close: more money, more longevity, America’s great past time.
Is this even a question?!?

Baseball. You can make a billion dollars and still eat at an Arby's without someone asking for an autograph because you were never marketed correctly.

Yea but you have to play 162 games every year... That doesn't sound fun
I'd pick an individual sport like golf or tennis

Soccer easily. The three highest paid athletes in the world last year were soccer players (Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar). Plus soccer is the world's most popular sport so a top level soccer player would be able to bag the finest women in Europe and South America and Asia and Africa and Central America, pretty much anywhere they want.

Basketball. Relatively safe and actually fun to play. Baseball would be boring.

Mike Trout getting $430 Million for 12 season (even if injured)
Lifetime earnings of top 5 golfers ever: (Tiger since 1996 - 25 years)
RANK PLAYER EARNINGS
1 Tiger Woods $120,660,780
2 Phil Mickelson $91,299,439
3 Jim Furyk $71,234,957
4 Vijay Singh $71,216,128
5 Dustin Johnson $62,285,783
1 Mike Trout Contract - $430 Million and Top 5 Golfers = 416 million.
Also Trout will likely be able to eat at Arby's with no issue in fly over states.

Basketball, no hesitation whatsoever. More fun to play, awesome contracts, injuries happen but aren't insane or life altering for the most part.

Trout is making 420 over next few and that doesn't even count the 80+ he has already made in his career
Dude is going to make close to half a billion from baseball

shite, even the third tier can bag some nice ones. This would be my answer also for that reason alone

More specific, starting baseball pitcher. Only have to pitch about 32 games a year (usually once a week). Throw 6 to 7 innings before they bring in a specialist. Hangout in the bullpen the rest of the games. If I'm an all star. I'm easily making 20M a year. That is the life..

Basketball because I’m white.

It’s the lifestyle for me. Plus they’re not wearing caps or helmets. If I made that kind of money, I would have the Arby’s personal chef. It would suck to make money like that and be in anonymous status

Woods has made over a Billion and takes in over 50M a year still. I guess endorsements aren't included. But that is a massive sum to leave out..

Sorry for comparing apples to apples salaries.

Elite golfers make way more money from endorsements than playing. For instance, last time Tiger was #1 in the world in 2013, he earned over $70MM from endorsements and only $12MM on the course. His total earnings over his entire career from both exceed $1.5 billion dollars. Granted, he's somewhat of an outlier, but that is just a stupid amount of money to play about 25 weeks of the year. Not to mention the ridiculous longevity of a pro golfer, which easily surpasses any sport. Since we're comparing the highest paid baseball player, then I think using Tiger as a comparison is more relevant.
However, if we're just talking about an "all-star" then I do agree that baseball has a strong case. Their elite players generally have the longest and most lucrative contracts, and they're usually fully guaranteed.
