If Tiger Woods was the goat but an unlikeable dick he’d be at that salary stated. If Griffey Jr was getting a 12 year 430 million contract and not Trout, he’d be making more in endorsements as well.

For some reason we moved the goal posts.

This was the question asked in the OP

The thread doesn't ask what sport has the highest paid salaried players. Appears to me as if the person moving the goalposts is you trying to pigeon hole the thread into one single qualifier.

If you're a millionaire athlete in any sport and can't get laid, then there's something seriously wrong with you.

More specific, starting baseball pitcher. Only have to pitch about 32 games a year (usually once a week). Throw 6 to 7 innings before they bring in a specialist. Hangout in the bullpen the rest of the games. If I'm an all star. I'm easily making 20M a year. That is the life..

Staying in shape to be a starting pitcher is no joke. Not saying starting pitchers don’t have a great life, but on their off days, they’re not just chilling. They’re running and lifting to keep their bodies in shape to do it all again.

Before Stanford Financial went belly-up (his biggest sponsor), he was making $30MM+/year from endorsements as recently as 2009

I quoted salaries and you quoted my post including endorsements. Griffey would have made 5 billion with today’s salary and endorsements. Sing with 30 million and Trout with his endorsements proves my point.

I don't think you really have a point to be honest. You're all over the place. You tried to use Vijay as an example of a once elite golfer but didn't realize how much he actually made on endorsements, which was a lot. Mike Trout, last year, only made about $2.5 MM from endorsements.

If we're talking about the life an elite professional athlete lives, it's all relevant, whether it be their salary, endorsements, longevity, whatever.

And I was factoring in his 430 million plus his ability to eat at Arby’s . This is a weird exchange.

Ok, so if you had your choice, you'd be Mike Trout. That's fine, but that doesn't mean everyone will share that opinion.

I'm also white, that's why I would chose Boxing- Heavy Weight Champion

4 fights a year @50 MM a fight, work for 5 years. Retire at 28 with a Billion in purse money.

Then double it with endorsements.

Soccer easily. The three highest paid athletes in the world last year were soccer players (Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar). Plus soccer is the world's most popular sport so a top level soccer player would be able to bag the finest women in Europe and South America and Asia and Africa and Central America, pretty much anywhere they want.

That just requires money
