I had a Mazda truck in my early 20's. Good little truck. Hell, I miss that thing.

My wife has a 2018 CX9. It's nice enough. Plenty enough get up and go. Decent gas mileage. No rattles so far after 28k or so miles. Smooth ride. She's happy with it.

I bought a 90 MX-6 in December of 89 and drove it for 10 years. Was shopping for an Accord, but at that time, Mazda had a longer warranty than Honda. Got the 90 MX-6 for less than the 89 Accords.

The 5-speed manual transmission made it a fun car to drive. Kept it as a second car for a few years. In the last six months that I owned it, it had overheating problems. I replace one plastic radiator, and still had problems, so I got rid of it.

Had a 2016 Mazda 3 for 3 years..Zero problems. Still have 2010 Mazda 3 that has been in the repair shop one time for a minor issue. Also have a 2016 Mazda 6 with zero issues. Test drove the Camry and Accord and found the 6 was just more fun to drive. The ride is a tiny bit harsher than others but it handles great. The base engine is also under powered imo so if you want more get up and go opt for the turbo. Over all mine have been great cars.

but the dealership kept screwing around with us on the cost of the vehicle. The old, "What do you want your payments to me" crap

They like that, so I just play their stupid game with them.

I look at their listed price and calculate what the payments would be, if they accepted my offer of what I would pay . They will try to extend you on months to get you there, but I come out of the pocket first and tell them I will do X per month, with X amount down, for X months.

I also give myself some cushion by dropping my initial "Payment offer", to make it look like I'm trying to work with them.

Had a Mazda 3 for 10yrs.

Ex wife had a Mazda 6 for 10yrs.

Current wife has a Mazda 6 on year 6

Very few issues.

Mazdas are so much more fun to drive than Accord or Camry.

You get a lot for your money.

I drive a lot for work, so instead of trading my wife’s old (2009) Mazda 3 in a few years ago, we just kept it, and I still drive it back and forth for work. 215k miles so far. Minimal problems out of it.

Mazdas are great cars. They don't have the reliability reputation that Toyota and Honda have, but you're splitting hairs, IMO.

You aren't going to go wrong with either the Camry, Accord, or Mazda6. I'd even throw in the Sonata.

The only reason I might stray away from the 6 is that they've only done minor exterior upgrades and interior refresh recently, whereas the other three are all completely new since 2018.

I had this exact model (2006 RX-8 Shinka Edition) for several years. It was a blast to drive until some whore soccer mom on her cellphone in her $70k Tahoe rearended me and totaled it. I miss that car every day.

Mazda6 is a great car that's a blast to drive. Just don't tell anyone about it. Kind of a secret.

The zoom zoom ain't no joke with that car either. It's a really nice looking car with a smooth interior. Vision out of the back window is a little less than ideal due to the sporty design, but you have the camera if you're backing up. Smooth ride too. The Bose Stereo system in some models is impressive as well. Definitely would recommend.

If you’re looking at Mazda I would say look at Hyundai too. Good vehicles with good warranties

Bought the wife a 2016 CX9 as new. She’s put 68k miles on it so far and have had zero issues with it whatsoever. Has been a great car for us.

A fact that has already been established. It was our first vehicle purchase and we learned a lot from the experience.

Mazda has surpassed Honda in reliability brands, btw. Currently sits as
1. Lexus
2. Mazda
3. Toyota
12. Honda
