Looking for a new sedan for y wife. She doesn't want an SUV and wants something fun to drive. I was thinking Camry, Accord etc, but she really likes the Mazda6 Touring. I'm not familiar with Mazda much. I'm looking for reliability.. don't care much about resale as we keep our vehicles for 10+ yrs

Wife had the CX7 a few years back and wasn't impressed. Just seemed cheap and started getting rattles from the dash area and doors after a couple years.

She currently has the Toyota 4Runner and loves it.

I had a Mazda B2200 extended cab once. I put that through hell at 16.

Mazda6 is a great car that's a blast to drive. Just don't tell anyone about it. Kind of a secret.

I've got a 6 Grand Touring and love it. No idea if its gonna last 10 years, but I don't think you can get a better car/features for the price. Good looking and fun to drive.

Mazda has come a LONG way in the past 5 or so years. I bought my wife a Mazda 6 a couple years ago and we loved it.

We tried the CX9 and absolutely loved it. It was just too much car for us with no kids at the time.

I would HIGHLY suggest going and taking both out for a spin... you won’t need disappointed

Again, they’ve come a long, LONG way in recent years. The “touring” package on either with the “Lane Assist”, “Smart Cruise”, and “Auto-brake” is fantastic.

Accord, Camry, Mazda6: all good choices.

I'd personally take one of the first two over the Mazda but you'll be fine with any one of the three for your criteria.

Good luck.

Oh yeah: Pics of the wife? Duh.

We bought my wife a CX9 after the flood and we love it. It is a great car to take on road trips, Lots of space and very comfortable (I am not a small man lol). We have had zero issues with it. If you have kids, we can put 3 car seats in the back seat for our grandkids.

My wife had a Mazda 6. She drove it for about a year and never had any problems with it. She went into the hospital and valet parked. We never saw the car again.

I have a 2015 Mazda 3 hatchback. I bought it for commuting. Like member12 mentioned, they are a blast to drive. I get 39 mpg on the interstate (35 avg). It's a great car especially for the price point. It came down to a Honda and Mazda. I drove both. The Mazda had a simpler dash, more comfortable seating, and was more responsive when driving. It feels more like a little Euro sports car.

I have a 2017 Mazda 6 Touring and love it. Price was phenomenal and the car has been reliable and a lot of fun to drive. It has enough power and acceleration that you never think twice about merging or passing, but not enough that you can really get into trouble.

I average about 13-14K a year, mostly interstate driving. Feels the same doing 50 as is does getting up to 90 (if you aren't paying attention). The 6 has ample back seat space for adult passengers, I wouldn't go with a Mazda 3 unless the rear passengers are children (and will be for a while).

Definitely recommend you test drive one.

The new MX-5s are really nice. A little heavy compared to old models but if you lived in the city and just needed a commuter why dont more people buy it? I guess it's the stigma that it's for gheys

Should have mentioned this. I get ~33 mpg but mostly on highway (call it 70/30 between highway and city). I test drove the Accord and a VW CC. The Accord had the soul of a washing machine, the CC was nice but its maintenance record is less than stellar. Only gripe with the Mazda is the infotainment suite. The voice recognition is not great, and the Bluetooth can occasionally be finicky if the phone is also connected via charger (just un-plug, start the audio and re-plug).
