My kids were out of school the first week of Feb which isn’t normal. Crowds were packed for Super Bowl Sunday which people think is a great day to go. South America has their summer break when America is in school. They flood the parks this time of year more than ever. You can’t use a typical school calendar to plan anymore. There are so many events every week down there that get people to visit.

yep. at this point, my rule of thumb would be to just pick the most ideal weather for you and your family and avoid the major holidays (specifically the week between Christmas and New Years). It'll be crowded regardless so might as well make it as tolerable as possible.

I’m sure this thread will bring out the Disney baws

Y’all better put in that overtime now so you can spend your week of allotted vacation standing in line and eating Aramark food and riding rides designed for 8 year olds

Once y’all drop 5k at Disney you’ll definitely get birthday sex from the wifey this year

What the hell are you doing. Just logged on to see, and there were still openings. Must be too stupid to figure out basic technology.

Why in the ever living frick would you spend all this money to go to Disney, wake up at the arse crack of dawn and wait hours in line to ride a stupid Star Wars ride? Look... it’s your money and life..but frick man.. this all sounds miserable!
I would rather walk a trail in any one of 100 National Parks than go to Disney again. Compare what we read in this thread versus walking a moderate trail to a waterfall at sunrise in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. My God.

Do they release new openings throughout the day?

No way there were still openings at 10:38.

There was a glitch today that allowed people to join groups who weren't in the park. A guy in Minnesota got group 12. Issue is that takes spots away from park guests. Hopefully a one day glitch.

I don't disagree. I like Disney but I am saturated. It's expensive and I too have a better time in Tennessee or Colorado. The kids think that's boring though.

I’ll be out there tomorrow myself. Took a week off between my old job and starting my new one with a subsidiary company of Disney, so figured I would give it a go. Just be in the gate by 8 AM. After that it’s luck of the draw to see who gets it first. Make sure you’re not in your app until 8 am exactly.

There is no such thing as a dead period at Disney anymore. In the times that used to be dead, Disney schedules events that bring people (dance and cheerleading competitions, sporting events, specials for foreign countries who are on vacation right now, etc). That’s why the parks are always crowded. Every now and then you’ll luck up and hit the park on an in between day and it’ll be relatively empty, but those are few and far between.

When rain is in the forecast. Gloomy weather keeps the locals away so it thins out the crowds dramatically. Just bring ponchos and have fun with it.

I try to go at the least busy times of year (but like you said that really doesn't exist anymore) but if you get there for park opening and leave right after lunch and head back to the resort or something, then go back mid afternoon you can usually beat the crowds a good bit.

Take this FWFW but a guy in customer service this am told me this week has been the busiest week ever for them. He said it has surpassed past holiday weeks.

I can attest that it’s insane. Basically everywhere is like skip bertman drive 1 hour before kickoff.

Wasn’t a glitch. Within the park. Could’ve entered a group at that time.

This is the saddest thing I’ve read here if you’re being serious

You know how many times I've gotten up at 3:30 AM to go duck hunting in 35º and 20 MPH winds and not seen a thing?

Sitting on your arse and not dealing with thousands of other assholes at the same time is not the same thing. You go out there to enjoy yourself and get the frick away from everything. Basically, the polar opposite of what Disney does to you.

Got there at 7:30...checked in at 8 (got 81) then the ride started crapping out...was notified around 2 we were out (think they got to 68 today). Park was packed and miserable from the get go.
