Mandeville/Covington are both traffic nightmares. Before I moved back up north, I had a house in Madisonville and it was awesome.

Same “culture”(?) as the other two... but not nearly as commercialized. Take Hwy 22 about 10 me west of 190 and it turns to a SE LA paradise.

Speaking of Madisonville, did that dummy Richard ever come off the parking lot next to Friend’s so it could ever become anything else? That place was great, but the Captain Idiot ran it into the ground and then refused to sell the adjacent parking lot for a reasonable price so no businesses would ever consider moving in.

The guys that own Dixie RV bought it and will turn one floor into corporate headquarters and the other into a small high end restaurant I believe. That way the parking lot is not competing with itself. Employees will park during the day and diners at night.

I don’t call it downtown. Not many businesses I want to visit past the courthouse. No reason to go there.

Mandeville and Covington are filled with white folks that couldn't afford to live in Metairie and Lakeview and still send their kids to private school.

So what they do is lie to themselves about the schools being better than the privates real rich folks on the southshore send their kids to and they blather about lower taxes and crime and whatever else.

They move there so they can live the upper middle class lie with their two incomes in their ever shrinking McMansions. All the while, their southshore counterparts are living the dream the northshore rejects have long since given up.

Northshore residence equals southshore failure and don't let those frickers tell you any different.

Yeah those 7 figure homes lining the streets of some of these subdivisions, old Covington and the Madisonville riverfront just scream “I can’t afford to live in Lakeview”

Yeah.....that’s not how standardized tests (which give the schools their grades/rank) work, but good guess!

I mean they're not tourist attractions and nobody claims them to be. But if you live in the general Nola metropolitan area and you like your family to live somewhere safe, clean, quiet, etc. it's hard to beat. Just pick somewhere south of I-12

Your neighbor's kid is dealing drugs to your yoga pants wearing wife. Your car can still get broken into on the Northshore and many times will if you are at Orange Therapy near the old KMart or WalMart,Sam's the Movies or Target.

Smack is easier to get on the Nortshore according to DEA and there are a lot of meth labs north of I12

It's a shite hole full of middle class white baws.

Why would anyone want to live somewhere where you HAVE to send your kids to private schools? I mean that’s just dumb. And I won’t even talk about the streets and crime because that’s too obvious.

For us it's because we want to live 5-10 minutes from work. Plenty of people that I work with commute an hour from the burbs. frick all that. My time is worth money.

You are either a troll or a truly dim bulb. You're the clown who said Joe Brady was a terrible hire and a nobody. Your opinions are worth less than the gum on the bottom of a homeless person's shoe.

My wife's commute is 2 miles and mine is 4. We did the 16 mile commute in BR traffic for 8 years. We only have one school aged kid left and decided that we didn't want to do it anymore.

You seem to hate it, so my question to you is why do you spend time in the area?
