Check the expiration dates on the meat you buy from Winn Dickme....
Get the furthest date possible or your house will smell like death...

Dude , if you want bland, you should have been around in the 1970s. With all the ethnic foods, and foodie culture and just overall appreciation of food that proliferates now, it feels like heaven to me.

That Kris Kristofferson wrote Me and Bobby Mcgee song. Always though that Janis Joplin wrote it.

I learned the word “mensuration”. Met a dude this week who is a mensurationist.

He is almost certainly a dendrologist, and possibly a silviculturalist as well.

I learned about mitochondrial transfer and “three parent babies”. Not just the science but the ethical issues associated with it.

I'm not sure I like the climate of that discussion.

I've learned that friends will lie to you and it hurts.

I’m ashamed to admit the most eye-opening thing that I was unaware of that actually shocked me was that:

Male deer/bucks shed their antlers every year.

I always thought that the 10, 12, 14+ point bucks were old and elusive as shite “earned” their points over a long period... for instance, I thought that a 14-point buck is just older and more savvy... and he started years ago as a 4-point, etc.

I’m not a hunter, so it was kind of mind blowing TBH.

you are not wrong, older bucks have bigger racks. Each year they lose them and if their genetics are good and the buck is healthy he will grow a larger rack the following year.

So the thought that 10+ point bucks are elusive and earned their racks is pretty accurate. That and most hunting clubs won't allow the shooting of smaller racks in order for them to grow and get bigger

Right, I learned that as well... but I thought “points” were grown/earned over time... as in a young buck has 4 points, stays alive for 10 years, the same antlers will grow into a 14+ point.

Either way, however it happens, I was honestly rather shocked to learn that all bucks’ antlers are shed each year.

Hell yeah. This is when cereal was invented by Kellogg. The phrase "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" came out of all of that, and to this day, actual schools and government sponsored nutrition programs continue to use it.

This week, I learned about all of the insane holistic loony bin faux medical shite Gwyneth Paltrow and her brand promotes and leads people to believe is helping them. Some of it being extremely dangerous to their health.
