What’s something you learned this week?

The history of bland foods in America was actually a part of the religious puritanical movement believing that flavors led to sexual arousal and rampant sexual deviancy, crime, and rebellion. So don’t say that we don’t have a “food culture” because our food is bland so we need to appropriate the food of other cultures as our own. BLAND literally IS our food culture. (I’ve always heard of the influence of religion on the Standard American Diet in many ways regarding legislation and the farming industry, etc. but this was a great new perspective especially considering the food industry)
