you ever saw?

white snowy owl just smashed into my windshield before dawn north of Amarillo, SOB came out of the dark and attacked my truck with talons extended, no idea what it thought it was catching, scared the shite outta me, no need for coffee for the next 100 miles, I’m woke...

Buddy and I found an owl that had been hit once, we thought it was dead so we picked it up.

As we were driving it came to life and was going nuts in the truck, we stopped and bailed out.

It finally flew out

We may have had a few when this happened

I had never seen a least bittern in my home Parish until one flew directly in front of my truck while going over a small bridge. Killed it.

The only Sora I have ever seen was dead up against the front wall of Academy. Must have flown into the brick at night.

Just how far north of Amarillo are you? Haha.

They do get down there to Texas, but is it possible it was a Barn Owl rather than a Snowy?

I saw a guy hit a Bald Eagle on I-10

Eagle was swooping down for some delicious road kill and a Chevy smacked it. Big cloud of feathers. Truck pulled over

Damn. Some local birders are going to be upset that their transient Snowy won't be around anymore.

I was headed to work right at daylight on the interstate. I hit an owl and it hit the windshield right above where the mirror is attached. The sunglasses holder opened up and my glasses fell out and I much like you it took me a while to get over it.

Driving thru a bad storm at night on hwy 190 in Texas early 2000's. Didn't realize a tornado had formed and was going across Dam B reservoir in front of us about 1/2 mile. Long story short, a 4 lb. carp hit our windshield and a 2 lb. catfish hit the windshield of the car in front of us. We both pulled over and took pics for insurance and were in disbelief. Weirdest roadkill I was ever part of for sure.

Driving up I-49 one day, I think in the spring and I swear it must have been black bear rut going on. They were dead on the side of the road every few miles

I pulled up at my mom and dad's house one time, (there's a cypress brake and a 10 acre pond a quarter down the field), and just as I stopped a large red crawfish crashed onto my hood!

Got out to take a picture because it was crazy, and there was a Crow harassing a Heron up in the sky.

When I was about 12 my mom and aunt were taking us kids to Lafayette to visit some family. We took my aunt's Ford Astro.

Right as we're coming across the basin a lone buzzard was enjoying some roadkill. My aunt had a led foot. Never slowed down. Buzzard didn't get high enough, quick enough and sure enough, aunt smoked it. Got stuck in the windshield. Aunt had to keep driving until we could exit at Henderson.

Glass repair guy didn't know what to think.

Hawk was eating road kill yesterday 1/4 in my lane and was not going to move. I crossed Centre line and missed him by 2-3 feet. Sucker never flew off!

Saw a doe come out of the woods on a rural road. Turned hard right and ran into the back of a Tahoe doing about 25 mph.
Busted out the back glass.
Knocked her silly for a bit, then she got up and took off.

Buddy of mine in college hit a snow goose. Goose was coming off a rice field and didn't get up high enough...smashed through the front windshield and covered my buddy with blood and feathers. Quite the story in engineering class.

He would have stayed home if it wasn't for the test we had that day.
