I have a 2002 Toyota Tundra.

Over 2 decades I have replaced 4 of these sensors at less than $40 each time.

Sounds like you are being asked to replace catalytic converters.

An aside, my friend has 250k on his Silverado. We will drive a truck until it falls apart. He just had the timing chain replaced. I had my "belt replaced at 150K".

Both of our wives complain when they have to ride in our vehicles. Upholstery and "smell" issues.

We're fine.

Never trust a mechanic you don't know. First, determine if you really need all the things they want to do. Most times you don't. Next, look at the prices they are giving you for the parts first. Look up those parts online and compare. You can save a lot of money sometimes if you buy the parts yourself either at Autozone or order online. Next, look up on youtube or wherever on how to do the labor they want to do. It's astounding what some mechanics will charge for very simple tasks. My thermostat went bad and the dealership wanted to charge me quite a bit of money (probably over $150) to replace it. I looked up how to do it for my model of car, and found a step by step video on youtube. It was as simple as unscrewing a couple screws, removing the old thermostat, replacing it with a new one, then screwing it back in. It literally took me 5-10 minutes.

What do you think the service manager, service adviser, and mechanic do, when a customer just outright says, "okay, go ahead and fix it all" ? High fives all around, ring a bell, all yell cha ching?

The only times my check engine light came on in both Ecoboost fords ive had were because of misfiring. Changed out a few plugs and good to go.

Currently have 147k in 40 months F150 3.5 Ecoboost, lariat

Changed a couple plugs and a ball joint.

On 3rd set of tires

2nd Battery

Nothing too major

Gonna trade it in this year at some point, I just hate the buying a new truck process. I usually buy a new one every 2-3 years but I’ve been too lazy to go pick up another one this year.

My miles are 1/2 work and 1/2 pleasure. Between work, kids sports and functions, weekend trips, hunting, fishing, visiting friends and family, my miles add up, I do have a lot of windshield time, I love driving, I guess that why I don’t consider 24k miles a year very much. I guess it is for some people.

Every once and a while I’ll stay home and not leave the house all weekend, Friday-Sunday and can’t wait to get on the road Monday morning.
