I like the approach Collin County took today which basically said all businesses in our county are considered essential and are able to operate as long as they can maintain social distancing of 6’ between customers and employees in groups of 6 or less.

Exactly what I think happens in a couple weeks.

Wow it’s almost like making people take responsibility for their own health and the health of others is preferable option to deliberately tanking the economy

It’s a measured approach that I hope the rest of Texas adopts. The order does include mandatory self-quarantine for those with symptoms or positive testing of Covid but that’s just common sense.

Amounts probably insignificant but that test tracking site may be understating total tests a little as a few states quit reporting negative results (like Maryland stopped reporting negative results on the 12th so their total tests are updated positives plus reusing same negative totals from 12th), not all states include pending results, and then a state will be inconsistent with on updates on top of just reporting total tests by state labs while including all positive regardless of lab (like Louisiana was doing last week) - MS "Negative = total tests (state lab only) - total positives (state and commercial labs). This is a lower bound for actual negatives. Sometimes MS updates positives without updating totals, in which case we keep the last inferred negative count, rather than recalculating and reducing it. Update time is the "as of" time listed in the state chart."
I am just glad someone is attempting to pull together total tests and posting. I just wish states were consistent.
I also wish it was easier to see illness onset dates especially for results last week and this week, but even including date specimen taken with some testing still estimating 3 to 5 days before results would be helpful. Probably going to be easier to find these weeks or months after results posted not in middle of them. CDC's date of illness onset tracker only has those dates for 7,309 cases so far.
I think the focus on new positive results last week and so far this week without emphasizing illness onset date or even date specimen taken and also increasing daily testing quantities both increased panic in some & complacency in others with both groups thinking positive results last week and now are all newly infected after restrictions and/or newly infected past day or 2 showing to them that restrictions are not working. One group panics more & the other says WTF I'll do what I want more.

What is your threshold for opening back up?

Friend of mine had all of the sypmtoms including some fever. Went and got tested.
They told her results will be about 5 days. That is wild.

Given that Dr. Fauci has seemed like the most competent person involved in the government's response to this virus, I say we take his advice into account as opposed to Lloyd Blankfein and Larry Kudlow.
What is your threshold for opening back up?
Personally, I value the lives of other people more than the Dow or President Trump's re-election chances, but I know not everyone does.

Are you just looking at corona deaths when you value the lives?
That is all the epidemiologists are going to base their opinion on.

I love these straw man positions.
Because I don’t want a complete economic collapse, I care about the DJIA and Trump more than people dying.
Got it.

There are more hospitalized than that. Quite a few more. Not sure where that data comes from, but I can tell you with 100% certainty it isn't correct.

The problem is Trump as a leader hasn’t expanded upon what the plan is. So it only leaves to speculation and the sky screamer straw men will always be loudest.
I am a huge trump guy but he either needs to let someone else take the lead or he needs to be a better crisis leader. No one wants to collapse the economy so what is the plan to get back to normal?
