and his connection there to help their recruiting. Um, is this how the pitch goes?

“Hey, come to Ohio State and we’ll play favorites and sit you on the bench for 3 years. . . Then you can transfer and win a Heisman and national title somewhere else. Sounds great, right?”

Lmao

“Come to Ohio State, you can win our 8.5th Heisman*”

Wouldn’t that just be another half making it just 8 after their current 7.5?.

No need to rewrite history. This is not how it happened at Ohio State.

That website gave me a migraine, layout is shite. Thanks, Chicken, for the outstanding job with TD. Makes going to other websites painful.

They would never pitch recruits that way. Be real.
They would say:

“Hey, come to The Ohio State University and we’ll play favorites and sit you on the bench for 3 years. . . Then you can transfer and win a Heisman and national title somewhere else. Sounds great, right?”

Urban Meyer has said that Joe was a made qb and that Joe would admit that. Improvements in footwork gave him increased velocity as you can see in his first spring game where he was throwing dimes. Joe has given credit to OSU and stated how much he loved OSU and how difficult it was to leave. When O first interviewed Joe, he said that Joe's understanding of schemes was A+ (Fair credit to OSU here)

Here is what Joe said of OSU's promotion of Corey Dennis to new qb coach. "“I think Corey is going to be a really good coach for a long time,” Burrow said. “I texted him as soon as I saw the news and was fired up for him. He's worked for that for a long time, and there's nobody more deserving. He's going to be a really good coach. I'm excited for him.” LINK /

Of course, the large majority of credit for Joe's Heisman goes to LSU, but Joe has always said that OSU played a positive role in his growth. That has to be a recruiting plus for OSU.

Again all credit to LSU and Joe for his great year in 2019.

Joe in an interview has stated that he got a fair shot. Meyer said that Haskins barely edged him out. No serious argument that OSU was playing favorites. OSU chose the guy who won Michigan game, coming into the game cold after Barrett injury with OSU behind in 3rd quarter.

Well I banged a couple of their women in the 2007 National Championship game. Maybe they can brag about their wives accomplishments too!

That’s definitely what happened at least with Haskins. Haskins isn’t a better qb or leader than Joe Burrow. That buckeye team loves Joe

Not an OSU fan but they develop great QBs. One of the sole reasons LSU looks so appealing for a Qb is the offense Brady installed and Joe executed. With Brady gone is there still lots of appeal for a blue chip Qb? Absolutely. Do you think some may want to see how successful E and whomever is brought in run the offense first? Absolutely.
