Business Report

quote:

The Brunis are asking $14 million for the compound, which includes a 25,000-square-foot, five-bedroom main house with a home theater and gym, as well as a 3,800-square-foot, three-bedroom guest house, 1,500-square-foot cabana, saltwater pool and man-made lake amid live oaks and rolling hills.

quote:

That’s more than twice the $6 million the couple paid for the home in June 2015.

When he acquired it in 2015, it had been on the market for more than 2 1/2 years and de la Bretonne’s original $18 million asking price had been lowered to $12 million—twice what it eventually sold for

The market for a massive home like that would be limited in freaking Dallas or Chicago.

It's going to be listed for a while.

I'd rather buy 2-3 very nice, normal sized houses across the country instead of one gigantic $15 million mansion.

The Pennington House will probably eventually be turned into some kind of corporate retreat place or a boutique hotel.

Or some kind of white collar branch Dividian complex.

I'd rather live in my current house than what looks like a boring hotel with no character.

Does not look like a house that is worth $14 million at all. In fact whoever decorated that house should be fired and the owners ordered to get their money back because the furnishings are fricking hideous.

The options for that property are very limited and that that’s definitely something I could see happening.

That place is gonna be on the market for a long arse time again.

Why would anyone would want to pay $14 million to live at the corner of highland and bluebonnet?
If I had that kind of money it would be spent on a second home in a destination type locale.

why is it up for sale? I mean if you're gonna build something that huge, wouldn't you want to stay there forever?

I hate the roof on the place. I will never understand why she/they chose that style for S.La.
this aint Miami or Mexico.

This is what I had in mind:

It was used as a resort in a movie I watched a couple years ago.

I suggest it be turned into a MUD and build condos and townhomes on the grounds and make it an exclusive gated community with some of the original house/amenities converted into community spaces and such.

The rent estimate is only $915/month. If I liquidate a few offerings I can probably swing that.
