How many people in Baton Rouge have the money to spend $14 million on a house? 10?

Plenty of people in BR could afford it. They just aren’t stupid enough to buy it.

Baton Rouge has a hell of a lot more money than people think. When Stanford Group was exposed almost one billion dollars that evaporated was from Baton Rouge and this town barely blinked.

Every house has a butt. That whole house is a butt.

The place is built like a high end community college campus or hotel and not a luxury home.

Don’t care how much money you have... a house like that is an absolute money pit. Eventually you would get tired of cutting those checks, tons of maintenance and cost to just run the property daily.

Well they are a lot more than a couple of dentists and I do believe they sold their corporate dentist firm not long ago.

Yes and their non-compete ended recently or is about to end. They are starting a new practice and building a new building at Perkins/Kenilworth.

There are plenty of $1-2 million dollar properties in BR but it's not much of a market for something like that.

The Brunis are asking $14 million for the compound, which includes a 25,000-square-foot, five-bedroom main house with a home theater and gym, as well as a 3,800-square-foot, three-bedroom guest house, 1,500-square-foot cabana, saltwater pool and man-made lake amid live oaks and rolling hills.

That’s more than twice the $6 million the couple paid for the home in June 2015. But Andre Bruni says that given all the property has to offer, it’s a fair asking price.

“It’s a fraction of what it would cost to build today,” Bruni says. “It’s probably one-third to one-half of what it would cost to build today, so the value in what is here is unparalleled.”

Lol. A dentist thinks he’s an expert in real estate. Okay lol

It's crazy how many incredibly nice houses there are in EBR along Highland Road, near Bocage, and along Old Perkins.

Not really. There are some crazy wealthy people in Baton Rouge, maybe more than you would expect from a comparably sized city. I'd imagine the capitol being here and Louisiana's unique politics have... "opened a lot of doors" for some of Baton Rouge's upper crust.

We're not gonna live next door to the poors.

I want to see the interior of that one on Highland with the statue of the archer shooting an arrow up in the sky. Anyone know who owns that property? On Highland, near the Park.

That’s interesting. Is it going directly across Kenilworth where they were trying to extend it? I’ve seen some action on the property lately.

I would love to do a thread on the big "famous" houses of Baton Rouge and discuss who owns them and their history.

This dentist created a chain of practices throughout LA, AR, and MS. I think he knows a thing or two about real estate. He sold those practices to Heartland, a corporate dentistry group, for the largest deal Heartland had ever done. But yeah, lol.

That's weird. I googled his name and a thread came up where you answered that same question 9 years ago.
