Yes, it's better now in places where weed has been legalized and the marijuana convictions have been or are being vacated so people can go about their lives free of the hindrance from these wrongful prosecutions

Yeah, it was called the '80s. Ford was President, Nixon was in the White House and FDR was running this country into the ground. I was bummin' in a hole-in-a-wall town in what is now called Utah. Some fella from Colorado shows up, starts making so called "improvements", right? Before we knew what hit us, the streets are running with latte.

Wouldn’t go that far. The 68 Democrat Convention comes to mind. People spitting on our brave soldiers coming back home from hell, start of the overt communist movement in a major political party, JFK shot, RFK shot, MLK shot, Nam protests, Nam in general, Weather Underground, etc.

The 60s weren’t really as great of a time in this country as the losers from that generation try to make it seem.

In South Louisiana we had the proliferation of gangsta culture, record murder rates, aids epidemic, economic hangover from the late 80s oil crash.

70s were awesome. Classic rock. Chicks eager to put out. Weed everywhere. Cool cars.

In the words of Adam Carolla: The best time in the history of man was "Pre AIDS, Mid Coke" he describes it as some utopia where coke was considered about as unhealthy as drinking and condoms were not needed because sex couldn't literally kill you.

I think the 60s would have been a fascinating era to live through

But not necessarily "great" in the sense of enjoyable. For some, sure. For a lot - obviously not.

Whites made up over 80% of the population and the Hispanic invasion and birth rate bomb hadn't really begun yet.

S0 long as you weren't black, the 1950s-early 60s was the high point of being an American.
A perfect amount of comfort and technology(Too much of those things is what created recent generations). Great music, a lot of freedom, booming economy, decent paying jobs aplenty.

But the 1980s - 1990s were also the shite. Early 2000s weren't so bad. It was somewhere around 2008-2010 where everything went to shite.

America peaked during the summer of love. You had all the fun of sex, drugs, and rock n roll, without its negative societal impact.

The 90s are solid. After all that is when I was born. Anything before the 70s should not be considered at all. Jim Crow sucked.

Late 90's early 00's were cool. Acid was cheap and plentiful, so was ecstacy. Was a great time to party.

I always wondered about the 70s. I mean sex, drugs and rock and roll was the slogan
Pre AIDS and Ebola, no stupidly overt Nanny State Laws like seatbelts, helmets, could ride in the back of a pickup anywhere anytime. The music was original and some of the best ever made. Muscle cars and drag racing were big. Viet Nam was ending/ended.

70's were a great time to be an American!
